Cueva de Santo Domingo

This is a must-see for both Catholics and history buffs. It is the cave where Domingo de Guzmán went to pray while staying in Segovia the Fall of 1218. Though many cities in Spain boast of hosting the famous saint, Segovia can confirm it, and has a beautifully preserved site, maintained by the Dominican Nuns of Segovia (their convent is in the centee of town and requires seeing them first to arrange to visit the cave, which lies outside the Medieval walls of Segovia, right on the campus of the university. The walk to the cave is beautiful and worth the trek (wear good walking shoes, even though the streets are well-kept, there are cobblestones and stairs and climbs both uphill and downhill). The inside of the hidden cave is a spiritual experience all by itself. As with the Portonciolo d'Assisi, Domingo's contemoporary in Italy who similarly worked to return the Church to its Gospel roots and Apostolic teachings, a church was built around the cave which is what we can visit today. The peace in the walled garden outside the cave, with a view of Segovia and the mountains, is a perfect place to pray and recharge from the worries of the world.

Tremenda la cueva, la ermita, todo muy bien conservado. En su día, además, formó parte de un hospicio donde el clero se empleaba a fondo, y de manera bastante violenta, con los niños que allí abandonaban, un recuerdo para esos niños. Otro crimen impune de la iglesia.

Lugar emblematico no solo para católicos y creyentes sino para cualquier turista. lugar histórico en la cuenca del Eresma donde Santo Domingo de Guzmán, fundador de la orden de los predicadores, paraba en las noches para orar e identificarse con la Pasión de Cristo a través de la penitencia. Es un lugar con un horario para visitar, (tan fácil, como acudir al convento de Santo Domingo a las monjas y preguntar y quién te lo puede enseñar) se puede también organizar peregrinaciones de pequeños grupos organizar algún tipo de evento religioso y sabed que hace 800 años que fue fundado el Convento de Santo Domingo en Segovia

Sitio de relajación, vistas maravillosas,y gente sencilla.La cultura lo artístico y lo religioso se funden.Recomendable

Aunque se puede disfrutar poco, este convento es maravilloso
