Albergue Gabino

The most amazing place with real Camino spirit. I was welcomed so warmly and even invited to have a beautiful dinner with the host’s family - even though I didn’t eat the meat they had - they prepared food for me. The host saw I was sitting in the sun in the cute garden and filled up a container with salty water for me to soak my feet in!
A spacious room with lovely clean, warm showers and tea, coffee and cakes available any time for a donation. The place is family run and the little grocery shop, 50m down the road which also sold arty bits and pieces was open even though it was Sunday ! The most calming, quiet and ‘zen’ place I have stayed at at - wish I could have stayed longer. Right on the Camino route, too. 🥰🥰🥰

What a wonderful stay. We stayed in a private room which is located at the store just down from the albergue. Feels new, well equipped, stylish, most comfortable bed so far on the Camino, ensuite bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh, no fake smells, just clean. Basket full off coffees and teas with a plate of seasonal fruit was included. Full kitchenette with a fridge! The shop had artisan crafts and clothing, well stocked for snacks. Host was very friendly and helpful.

This albergue is hard to miss as it is along the road. Great multi-lingual host with a positive attitude (Aaron). The dorm is clean and tidy, hiking shoes are not allowed inside. There are also free hot drinks, biscuits and muffins (donativo of course).

This was such a wonderful find on the Camino. We booked two double rooms with private bathrooms, and couldn’t have been more pleased. They were adorable, clean, very roomy, and we were able to save money by cooking in our own kitchen. They offered a small supermarket right next-door. The owner was personable and kind. We played music with him and his son when we got there and they let us borrow their guitar. It was a lovely place and it felt like family. The style was perfect and it was a favorite stay on the Camino. The Wi-Fi was also good.

I would definitely recommend this albergue! The host was welcoming and helpful. The dorm was spacious and clean and there was a kitchen/ living room with everything you need! A good place to rest after a rainy day.

We booked a double room ahead knowing we had a big day on the Camino and would arrive late. Very friendly and caring hosts. Our bikes were locked away inside for the night and key provided to us for early departure the next day. We were able to arrange the pilgrim meal after others were already starting to eat. Nice touches in the room/apartment such as lavender scented hearts and tea and coffee. Well stocked small shop there too.

Just lovely. Family run. 6 euros for wash and dry laundry service. Free tea, coffee and biscuits. Shop and food next door run by the lovely mother. Do stay here on your Camino.

Comfortable and small albergue in a quiet village with a nice garden for sitting, drying clothes, and nice kitchen and dining area. The beds are comfortable and it is clean and quiet. I left my sandals and the owner kindly worked with the Alberge in Ponferrada to return them to me through a transport service for 4 euro. My feet are so happy! Muchisimo gracias!

Lovely little place to stay, eclectic and so friendly. The owner was lovely and looked after us so well. Very well appointed kitchen, lovely little shop nearby and charming village.

I stopped there at noon and I had a great salad. They have simple food but very good quality. And there is an amazing energy

Very moody small albergue in a quiet village. In the kitchen milk and coffee is included in the price. I liked that place.

Really nice host, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and happy.

Amazingly cozy and relaxed. Great little shop. Good food. The hospitaleros are extremely friendly and helpful.
