Have to try
There are a few amazing wild Hotsprings places in my home region , Tuscany, Italy. But this is a special one I have to say it. This ancient pools just made of rocks, in the middle of nature, surrounded by mountains and a lake.

The lake was actually created with the construction of a dam in 1948, builded by an hydroelectric company , The Dam made the river widen and flooded the valley.
In different periods of the year the level of the water submerge the entire area, and the thermal pools get flooded.
Pics were taken in September

The Hotsprings are actually on the side of the rests of roman base camp or better to say a roman base camp was established on the side of the thermal baths.

Someone posted 4 days ago that the pools were flooded. Well, they were not flooded today and there has been lots of rain in the area for the past 2-3 days. We went in the upper pool and it was the perfect temperature. There is some mud floating around in the water so we rinsed ourselves with clean water afterwards. It's a beautiful area with a lake or reservoir, and mountain views.

Pretty special place. Unlike Roman baths in Portugal, this hasn't been appropriated by some seedy company that then extorts people to use a naturally occurring phenomenon.

The place is spectacular and congrats to the authorities who refurbished the place because it's wonderful as it is. I don't really have any form of criticism at all, it's a superb place to go and I intend to return.

Caldas Romanas de Bande in Ourense, Spain water temperatures ranges from 36 to 48ºC. It is marvellous that something that was built by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago is still working perfectly today. Kudos to the archaeologists who discovered these ancient structures. 👏👍 There seems to be a pool for different seasons ... A cool pool for the summer and a very hot pool for the winter. The hot pool has bubbles appearing at random from the floor of the pool. I have to say that the water quality is very good... comparable to the top three beauty hotsprings in Japan! To continue to enjoy the Roman thermal baths is a treasure for Spain.

Best place to go if you have no clothes and are stuck in a Storm in autumn

Lovely spot, we parked for the night and enjoyed having a hot spring in our garden. At night, if it’s not full of people drinking and making lots of noise, it’s a very special experience with the stars!

Beautiful normally. But WARNING. As of today (12th of March 2018) after heavy rainfall all the hotsprings are fully submerged due to flooding. So completely inaccessible for soaking until flooding goes down

Love love love...historical all natural hot springs with constant running water into the near by river. It's a privilege to visit when available because rainy season normally starts around December and carries into March which means the river rises and covers the hot springs. Has good parking and a large garbage container to maintain clean. There are three pools that vary day to day in heat with rock paths to get to each. Camping seems to be prohibited but caravans/campers are not. When walking to the right of the hot springs, visitors can encounter a Roman Fort in ruins. You can't help but imagine the past as you enjoy the area the way the romans did.

Absolutely gorgeous and fantastic!!! It's totally natural so no place to change clothes, no drinkable water, etc.... the water is very warm in the centre and less on the sides.... it was 3 degrees outside and we were inside without feeling the cold! We took a 5L water bottle and warmed it in there to take a shower after bathing. Not too many people mid April.....The water is rich in sulphur which has multiple health benefits... totally recommend it!

It’s at 550m and chilly in October so a dip in here is perfect! Lovely walk along the reservoir to more old roman stuff (being refurbished), but no toilets or anything except parking under the trees.

this free tourist attraction is a great place to stop, soaked in the warm springs & hot springs looking at at the lake, and take a walk and look around the Roman ruins. A nice hidden gem tucked away in this pocket of Galicia. Both family friendly and hippie friendly, with a mix of rustic feeling and some recent upkeep of the paths.

Awesome ancient Roman baths where you can chill in warm pools with several temperatures. The scenery is amazing and although there are usually people in weekends it is very pleasant.

Was a fun time for a rainy day. Not very busy. Free. Water was hot (one pool much hotter than the others). Good parking.

For a little stop off. It is really cool to soak in an ancient hot top. 3 pools. 1 hot. 1 normal. 1 fairly cool. As you soak you get a wonderful view of a pretty lake with woods behind you. Your surrounded by nature. Have a soak for an hpur to relax on your travels. Its a hidden jem that takes you back centuries.
