Such a great little place to visit. Secluded narrow streets and white houses all encased in the castle walls. There is also a great hotel and restaurant that serves excellent coffee. The views over the landscape are beautiful too.

Amazing little town set inside an old castle. Have yet to read the history but felt moorish. Not a lot to do in the off season but walk around and take in the view. Seems like a bit of an artistic place with several studios. Closed when we went. But as an example of a walled white town was worth the visit. Views are spectacular too and the butterflies were incredible. Also is a small public car park and toilet.

Very beautiful view around this mountain from this tower, the fortress itself is not very interesting.

It’s worth to go either with friends or with family or just for a romantic getaway. There are a couple of restaurants around and one inside the castle, which is a hotel … also the views of the nearby lake are beautiful, but don’t expect anything big - Castillo de Castellar is a small fortress with some narrow white washed streets hidden in trees and flowers and plants in pots . Very cute and beautiful ! Go on a weekend when more of the restaurants are open …also , the drive up can be rather challenging 😊

Beautiful little castle/fort.
Very touristic, but a short walk in a beautiful white village located inside the castle.

The castle is well worth the trek up hill to look around. Take a picnic with you because the views are fantastic all the way round. There is a small car park at the base of the castle. Entrance is free, but it is in a remote part of southern Spain. The white village below is worth exploring too so you could have a day out here with relaxing lunch included. Plenty of parking near town square.

Fantastic hideaway village built inside an ancient castle. Breathtaking views and many small alleys. During the off-season you can drive to the main entrance but during high season we would not recommend that. The road is extremely narrow and two cars cannot pass each other. Instead, park at the foot of the castle and walk up. There are three or max four restaurants in the village so plan ahead and make a reservation. You can also hike from there. And.. yes, you can see Casares in the distance.

So beautiful, lovely place to wonder around for the afternoon, restaurants and small artisan gift shops. Not accessible for disabled.

A great old and relatively small castle with a hotel, and lovely little village around the castle... That is mostly tourist lodging, though decorated beautifully. We really enjoyed it.

Gorgeous town/villa date back to Romans and 1st century, list of history and is like going back in time, learning lots about Roman construction.

Nice castle at the top of the hill. Found a small bar to sit down and have a nice pint in the sun. We just found this place on a random drive but definitely worth a visit

I have lived 30 minutes from here and in 3 years never went until this weekend. Cannot believe I never visited it. Stunningly beautiful, amazing views and so clean and tidy.
Go and visit and take a walk around the little streets inside the castle walls. Or you can stay there. Few nice places to have some food and a drink. Great little bar/restaurant just 200m down the road aswell
