Mesón La Troya

Stayed in Trujillo overnight and found this lovely restaurant. We went for the set menu at €17.50 which included a bottle of red wine, water and bread. We had a shared starter of Goats cheese salad, I had the asparagus and my partner had the pepper salad. Followed by Piggy bits and fries for my partner and pork bites for myself...we managed a cheesecake between us for desert.
The food was first class, as was the service. Highly recommend.

Very generous portions of excellent food. Highly recommend the Migas and the Caldereta de cordero (lamb stew with peppers and potatoes).

We arrived quite late 26:30 but even so were welcomed for lunch.. Food excellent as the service.. we spent 95 euros in a 3 course meal in 4 people with wine and coffee.. fully recommended

They have a set menu with some choice for about €16, which came with a bottle of wine and water and four courses. Food was of good quality. We’ve been to Extremadura twice now and have come here both times!

Traveled around Spain. A bit and enjoy different regional foods, but this restaurant and its food come out tops, great service nothing no problem thank you

Really good restaurant for the price. The premium menu includes an appetizer (Spanish omelette and Salad), first course (I ordered gazpacho), second course (there are different meats like Entrecote and Lamb), drinks (Red wine and water with refill of both) and dessert or coffee for only 22€.

Visited three times and each time ate far too much. Good quality food cooked to perfection. Enormous portions for low prices. Do not attempt to eat more than three tapas between two! The waiters all seem to have a sense of humour, were helpful and patient with our hesitant Spanish. Highly recommended and good value

We had a great meal in this restaurant which is superbly situated in the square, we ate inside this fantastic building and the waitress who served us was so hard working. When we tried to get a taxi back to our hotel at 10 30, it became impossible, the waiters tried many,many numbers. We faced a long,long walk in the dark. The owner of the restaurant actually drove us to our hotel which was three kilometers away in his own car and refused to take any money, we will never forget his kindness,he was amazing.

Best food I had on my trip through Extremadura! Very nice and gentle waiters - always time for a little chat, so you feel comfy and home. It is like feeling being cooked by your grandma/-pa, but with style. If you are looking for well prized and yummy food and getting in touch with the locals: this place is where you have to go!

Great setting, on the Plaza Mayor of Trujillo. Great value for money, the salad and tortilla starters were delicious and then we tried Migas and Gazpacho. The migas were very nice, the gazpacho a bit strong (containing red pepper). The Timbal de Rabo de Toro was tender and very well seasoned, with a lovely sauce. The Lamp Caldereta was well cooked but perhaps a bit strong in the Spanish spice Pimentón. Lovely desserts.

Huge quantities, good quality and friendly service. Mercedes the waitress is great.

El mejor restaurante de Extremadura. Comida abundante y de gran calidad. Te regalan una ensalada y una tortilla de patatas entera de aperitivo. Menú con platos abundantes y posibilidad de repetir. El servicio excelente y de precio está muy bien. Muy recomendable

Sitio imprescindible.
Si vas a Trujillo, hay que almorzar allí.
El menú del día te pones hasta arriba, cantidad y calidad.
No reservan pero siempre hay sitio.

Comimos estupendamente.
De entrante te ponen una ensalada muy rica y una tortilla de patatas. Mis amigos pidieron menú, que estaba genial, cantidades enormes y muy rico de sabor.
Yo pedí la ensalada de queso de cabra que me pareció exquisita y unas migas que también fueron buenísimas.
No pudimos con todo, pedimos tupper y nos llevamos comida a casa.
Los camareros muy amables y el servicio muy rápido.

Y procura ir con hambre…porque… te vas a hartar…
Ya solamente los entrantes para todo el mundo son una tortilla de patata y una ensalada.

Pedimos migas, muy ricas. El menú viene con una tortilla de patatas de aperitivo, un primero, un segundo y postre. Ufffff. Todo muy rico pero demasiada comida para mi. El servicio muy bueno, local acogedor y bonito, precios justos. En definitiva un establecimiento que sería una buena opción si visitas Trujillo. Muy aconsejable
