This is restaurant is a must-do if you are in Soajo. Cachena beef is tender and very tasty. We had "Carne Cachena" mela for 3 persons. The beef, rice and bean dish and also the vegetables were awesome! Considering the amount of food and especially beef, plus quite big pours of wine, the price was very affordable. Only 42 euros for 3 adults. Food would have been plenty for even 4 adults.

Authentic northern Portuguese food with a welcoming ambience. Huge portions with fresh quality ingredients. They also make a lot of their desserts, which are delicious. Great service, the owner is a wonderful host, seems really passionate about the restaurant. The host also speaks English. Highly recommend!

I had the best experience at Saber ao Borralho. Not only is the restaurant a welcoming, cute, cozy, family-owned business, it is very well located and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. As a vegetarian, I was so happy to find various delicious options including the couvert, soup, veggie burger, veggies, and rice and beans! I recommend trying the cheesecake, it is so creamy with homemade fig jam. Absolute gem in Soajo.

What an amazing experience and service. It is local food, meat based, and it is delicious. We had the local beef for two people—it was served with a rice dish that was fantastic and veggies. Best beef ever. Our server (also the owner) was very friendly, suggested a fantastic wine pairing for our meal, also excellent to chat with. The restaurant is very nice, great ambiance. They speak Portuguese, French, and English that we know of. A wonderful way to end the day after a long day at the park. Quick note—they only accept cash, no credit cards.

Wonderful place. The host is super friendly and attentive. The menu is small, but the food is excellent. The Desserts are homemade and delicious. So is the homemade wine.

Absolute gem in Soajo. The food is perfect. High quality and very well made. Went here for diner and had grelhada mista. All meats were superb. Everything was superb! I absolutely recommend this place. I will definitely will be back!!

This is a great place to stop and eat with your family and friends. The food is unbelievable and the people who run the place are amazing. Every time I visit Portugal I have to stop at this restaurant. Amazing restaurant!!

One of the best steak I’ve ever head in my life. House wine and dessert was also delicious. Owner was really sympathetic and funny, he explained everything very well. Be aware of that portions are HUGE. He said that that’s how they eat on north 😅

What a delightful experience at this family restaurant in Portugal's Peneda Geres (national park). A superb lunch of 'mountain food' which was prepared and cooked in-house. It just oozed with traditional cooking and recipes. This type of meal would be hard to beat anywhere. And the price for two was 50e for two course and 4 copious glasses of the local red wine.

Great Food and Service. Enjoyed this Portuguese cuisine. If in the neighborhood of Soajo I would highely recommend to stop here and have some traditional food.

Really good traditional food, good wine, nice service. I'd recommend to make a booking as it is very popular among the locals, especially on weekends when they serve their specialty - local beef with amazing rice stew and veggies

The staff here is extremelly welcoming. All the food is local both the recipe and products. I advise the Cachena steak (local beef cattle with very distinguished flavour). For desert the figs cheese cake. The figs come from the owner own garden. Don't forget to taste vino verse.

If you're looking for a truly authentic experience with highest quality and warmest hospitality, look no further. And don't miss the cheesecake!

Best carne asada no forno I ever tried in Portugal! Excellent rice as well. Wonderful feeling-at-home atmosphere and very professional staff.

Place is realy nice. Very local portugese and serves hearty no frills food. Worth a visit.
