Villa Otivar - Rio Verde

Villa Otívar is set in a stunning rural location , which perhaps would be reason enough alone to stay here- However if you needed more reasons, this beautiful hotel is well kept and clean, my room was gorgeous, with a well thought out design. My bed was comfortable and with the air con on, I slept like a baby. My window hosted a stunning view, yet after time spent getting lost in the beauty of the view and busy days out- my room served as the perfect idilic, peaceful retreat to forget about the world in.
The owners, Paula and Dave are knowledgable of the immediate and surrounding areas, and took time to share their knowledge with me. They are kind and helpful people- they even went above and beyond and helped with a personal matter that unexpectedly arose at the time of my stay for which I am forever grateful. They clearly care about their business and work hard and this reflects throughout Villa Otivar, from the beautiful decor and cleanliness to the delicious food and drink, including the gluten free options. Something that is not reflective of all the above is the prices, because it’s such fantastic value for money!
Already booked to stay again, and Can’t wait to come back!

Great place in great location. Paula and Dave were super friendly, and helpful. Room was perfect. Hiking nearby is simply fantastic. We also ate very well in Otivar.

Villa Otivar was a delight, our room modern, beautifully appointed, the attention to detail was lovely, and bed was so comfortable! Paula and Dave were wonderful hosts, easy going and knowledgeable of the area. We arrived on bicycles and they had us sorted smoothly. The roof top bar was fun in the evening, and the lounge with incredible views of the valley, perfect for morning coffee. The breakfast before we set off in the morning was great! Our only regret was not staying a few days longer, so much more to explore. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience. The rooms were modern, Clean, and beautiful. The service is exceptional. The food and drinks were wonderful and we all thoroughly enjoyed them. Otivar is a mountain village providing incredible views, hiking & biking, as well as beaches and many other things to discover close by. We traveled with Family and friends. Park your car and call the Tuk Tuk service provided to get you to the hotel. It is free and the easiest way to find the Villa on your first visit. Once there it is easy to wander around and discover the quaint village.

I would highly recommend Villa Otivar for anyone staying in or near the town of Otivar. The rooms themselves were beautiful; the perfect mix of modern features with local Spanish style. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were heaven.

In the evening time we headed up to the rooftop bar. It was such a great atmosphere with the most beautiful mountain backdrop and the tapas was the best I'd experienced in Spain.

The owners Dave and Paula were such a delight and ensured we had a comfortable stay.

Will definitely be back!

Four of us went to Villa Otivar this morning for breakfast ,.
Breakfast was well cooked and well presented , really good value for money, David and Paula the owners were especially attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for us , they also have a bar on the terrace with a really good selection of wine, cocktails and tapas ..
The view from the terrace where we had breakfast was lovely .
They were kind enough to show us one of their hotel rooms, they have been very tastefully decorated with a lot of attention to detail, they even have coffee and tea making facilities which hotels in Spain don't usually provide.
We wish David and Paula good look with this wonderful venture , they have worked really hard and deserve to succeed , we certainty will be back and can highly recommend .

We have just returned from a lovely stay at this stylish boutique hotel. The rooms are modern, scrupulously clean and very well equipped - from hairdryer and a range of toiletries to tea/coffee making facilities with fresh milk -a must for us Brits! The hotel also has a roof-top bar and a welcoming terrace where you can mix with other guests and the locals. The hosts - Paula and Dave couldn't be more helpful - Paula served us a wonderful cooked breakfast and Dave helped ferry our luggage to the hotel in his wacky electric tuk-tuk! We will definitely return.

My partner and I stayed in Villa Otivar for two weeks and our expectations were exceeded. The hotel is in a beautiful setting in the white washed village of Otivar with stunning views of the mountains.

We were transported to and from the hotel on occasion by the tuk-tuk which was THE MOST fun. Locals waved and laughed as we zoomed past. Other days we hiked around the village which was great exercise!

The room was stunning, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was our favourite with a rainfall shower and individual sinks - a luxury! The air con shielded us from the sun and provided a very restful siesta daily.

We pre-booked a full English breakfast a few times and were not disappointed. Paula is an excellent cook and the tapas was the best in the village. Dave, the owner is an excellent bar man too. We spent many nights in Milo's bar laughing and drinking while watching the sunset - there was also some legendary dad dancing to old and new tunes (mostly from me haha!)

It's also worth mentioning that my partner and I are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and felt extremely comfortable and welcome at the hotel. The hosts were wonderful and gave us some great recommendations for places to visit in the area. We never felt out of place in the village and were welcomed by all.

The city of Granada is just a 1 hours drive away and is a must see. We also loved visiting La Herradura for lunch on the beach and hiked the Junta De Los Rios to bathe in the stunning waterfalls. Almuñecar is also a 15 min drive away which offers a bunch of hotels and tourist shops. We were never stuck for anything to do.

I never usually write reviews but my partner and I made such great memories here that I wanted to thank the hosts Paula and Dave for everything. We will be coming back very soon!

Beautiful quiet town of Otivar was perfect for a getaway with my fiance. Villa Otivar was the perfect location, close to the beach and restaurants but we didn't need to go far for great food considering the Chef on site.

The breakfast provided at VO was the perfect balance of home style English cooking in a Spanish environment.

AMAZING GETAWAY FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES.

After spending a fantastic day in the spectacular Rio Verde, we stayed the night at Villa Otivar. The small family run hotel is clean and modern with a lovely roof top bar, Dave the owner was there to meet us and was charming and informative. We will return to Otivar, the Rio Verde and this hotel.

A brand new (April ‘21) small hotel in Otivar! Close to the scenic and adventures hikes and canyonning. In the middle of a small village with Madera as the nicest restaurant (try their Mango Mouse 🤤). Dave and Paula are awesome (the owners) and the make you feel at home. From second 1 you are part of the family! The cozy rooftop bar in the central place were you blend in with the locals. Delicious fresh breakfast, drinks and tapas are served here! Room 5 has airco. Oh and the Tuktuk ride with Dave from up to the village is a blast. We loved our stay and hope to visit again in the future! Thanks guys 🤩!

Si buscas una escapada tranquila, el hotel rural en Otívar, Granada, es una joya escondida. Los anfitriones son increíblemente amables, te hacen sentir como en casa desde el primer momento. Ligger mysigt i en gränd i Otrivar där man lever med byborna när man vista där. Rummen är fina, rena, praktiska och trivsamma. Värdparet väldigt härliga och bjuder in så man verkligen känner sig välkommen. Hit kommer vi tillbaks för att bara umgås och för en trevlig stund.
