Domaine du Chatelard

The best meal we have had In Angouleme. The food and service was excellent. Two of our party of three are gluten and milk intolerant and this didn’t cause any issue for the chefs. Highly recommended and we will be returning

We had the most wonderful vegan lunch at Domaine du Chatelard
Firstly the setting is absolutely stunning, we sat on the terrace overlooking their private lake and beautiful woodland, it’s quite breathtaking! The staff were super friendly and very helpful, it was no problem at all to amend a couple of the vegetarian dishes to make them vegan (they have a full vegetarian menu, which sounded great for any vegetarians too) and we weren’t made to feel like we were being awkward at all.
The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and all locally sourced. I think a lot of the food is actually grown on their own organic farm. We’d highly recommend and we’ve already booked to go back for our wedding anniversary.

Very enjoyable Christmas break at the Domaine du Chatelard. Christmas lunch was wonderful and our suite was exceptional.

Really lovely place. 5 star ratings for food comfort and ambiance. Very friendly staff. Only one criticism, the menu was a bit confusing. instead of a standard menu we were presented with a series of menu cards hanging off a metal cage, the waiter did a good job of guiding us through the choices.

We had a very warm welcome from Pascal. The waiter Ahmed who was training could not have done any better, he was delightful and Ivan's food was superb, his combining was exceptional. Everything was homemade and executed to perfection.

What a fantastic find this place is. So out of the way yet close to a town.countryside, a lake, horses, swans, alpacas. Beautiful photo opportunities and loves walks. The chateau itself is very beautiful with a lot of period features. Views from the bedroom over the lake were spectacular.

Restaurant très sympa avec vue sur la Rivière. Endroit très agréable et personnel très sympa et très à l’écoute. Petit point à améliorer : dommage que les nappes ne soient pas repassées….ça gâche un peu le côté restauration de luxe.

Menu du réveillon de Noël très decevant au niveau du goût, de la présentation. Personnel gentil mais non professionnel. Décoration d un autre temps, vaisselle à changer car fortement ébréchée (un "chef" peut-il dresser son plat dans une telle vaisselle). A revoir aussi la chaleur des plats... on attends toujours le sorbet au Calvados).
Addition pas en rapport avec la qualité.

Magnifique domaine, un grand lac cerné d’une nature verdoyante, des belles chambres authentiques et un restaurant de grande qualité. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour.
