This was the most amazing two weeks holiday spent near the Vosges Mountains. So much to see and do for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists etc. The views from the peaks are breathtaking and the scenery beautiful.

Perfect place for medium-level trekking trips, numerous shelters and places to stay ("auberges"), and magnificent views. The altitude of the mountains does not go beyond 1.5km, so places for rock climbing are harder to find, at least we didn't see many. #Goatspotting is on point 👌

Wildenstein is a quiet village in the Vosges where times stood still. The exposure of the village at the end of the Valley de la Thur and in the middle of the hills of the Vosges gives the traveller tranquility and invites for immersion into the green. The forests around Wildenstein is like a botanical garden with seldom mushrooms and huge old trees.

Very historical place in the Vosges mountain range, see the original tunnels, turrets and bunkers from the war, some but yards apart from the opposition, sniper posts, and ordnance holds. For the defence of this strategic position known as the "Hell Hole" by both sides as from 28th August to 9th September 1914 with over 4,000 french soldiers alone dying in hand to hand combat for the ridge.

It's a must see place. Truly astonishing.

We were staying here far almost a week, of course that's not enough for a such place.
We were camping at a small and very quiet camping - Camping Municipal du Langenwasen in Mittlach - perfect for nature lovers. The campsite is located at the start of many hiking trails.

We were hiking to Petit Ballon 1272m, Lac des Truites (the highest lake of the Vosges massif 1066m), the Gazon du Faing 1306m.

Beautiful place for a short hike of 3/4 hours up to the top to enjoy a mesmerizing view of the Lake and then descend towards the lake.

Wide area, where you can have beautiful walks spread through vineyards, planes and hills. Gorgeous villages in the area, castles to visit, wine tasting and plenty of nature. If not a walking fan, there are quite a few touristic road trains between different villages.

It was an absolut pleasure to discover the beauty of the Vogese landscape. Between Ville and Wattwiller lie 200km of pure joy for motorbikers like us ;) We'll be back as soon as possible!

Great spot to mountainbike. Multiple trails down the mountains and well indicated mtb trails. Mind the temperature when going up: it can be chilly so make sure to take the necessary clothing!

Very nice place. Interesting and informative. The monkeys are friendly, you can feed them with popcorn that you receive in the entrance. Recommended

The Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park (Parc naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges), is a protected area of woodland, pasture, wetland, farmland and historical sites in northeastern France. There is a wealth of information that we had picked up from Office de Tourisme de la Vallée de Munster such as festivals and hiking trails.

Beautiful national park. The roads are just as good as the Black Forest just the other side of the Rhine valley and the German border. We rode down through this side of the valley and back up the other side in Germany. Its a truly great motorcycling experience.
