Le Darwin

The decor inside this bar truly reflects its own name!

Many interesting books, vases, frames and models of small animals of different species reminding us of the famous Darwin.

We visited the bar today by chance. It looked like a coffee/bar combo. from outside. The person who serviced us was really pleasant, friendly, attentive and came to the table shortly afterwards. He spoke English so there was no fighting with French language and someone spoke German too. The surprise was the cosy backyard of the restaurant/bar, which is not to be seen in some German cities as well. from bar stools to lounge sofa everything was available. Same with drinks. We ordered all varieties and all cocktails mixed and tasted well. Though I missed the celery salt ring on my bloody mary it was mixed well. The ambience was inviting, music not loud that one could still chit chat. They also served small food, as i could see on other tables. Gives you a holiday feeling in a tropical sea side bar without the sea of course. The menu card is available online. Surely one pays 2-3 € extra than if you drink in a normal restaurant. But then you sit better and have more choices. We will surely visit again. I would recommend it to everyone visiting the area.

We passed by Châtenois by chance: quite a nice town. Even better, we found this amazing brasserie, Le Darwin: cool place where to spend the night, welcoming staff and owners. I'd strongly recommend :-)

Amazing evening we spent in Le Darwin. Super friendly staff. Delicious Tarte Flambée. Great beers and wines. Beautiful location somehow underground. Loved it! Can’t recommend more

Le Darwin est le meilleur pub d'Alsace, on s'y sent bien, le lieu est unique, que ce soit à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur, la terrasse durant les beaux jours est exceptionnelle. Les cocktails sont un délice et les tartes flambées, salées comme sucrées sont tout simplement parfaites. L'accueil y est très chaleureux, toute l'équipe est top et aux petits soins des clients. Hâte d'y revenir.

On A bu une bière, il faut réserver à l'avance pour manger, car il est victime de sa réputation. Petite salle en sous sol, plus discret , on y a été suite à halloween, donc décor halloween au top. Je recommande vivement

Non abbiamo mangiato. Posto bellissimo e accogliente con camerieri capaci e sanno più lingue per comunicare in amicizia. Cocktail molto buoni con rum e gin differenti. Consiglio

Une ambiance de dingue surtout dans la cave aménagée avec le bar. On se croirait dans un club privé. Génial ! En revanche attention de payer immédiatement votre part quand vous êtes en groupe.

Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour une pause "boisson" dans ce mignon petit bourg situé sur notre route. Le Darwin a attiré notre attention par sa jolie devanture travaillée; la porte n'étant pas verrouillée nous sommes entrés et avons été accueillis par le patron qui, alors que l'établissement n'ouvrait qu'une heure plus tard, a accepté de nous servir un verre 👍 l'intérieur du pub est typiquement en bois, chargé mais cela donne une ambiance cosy et chaleureuse. Nous n'avons pas mangé, ce sera pour une prochaine fois.

Hors du commun, le Darwin c'est des cocktails à tomber, une team aux petits soins, dans cadre atypique .
On y vient et on y revient !

Un ami m'a recommandé Le Darwin et je suis allé découvrir l'ambiance hier soir, c'était incroyable ! J'aime vraiment la nourriture et les cocktails ici, c'est un endroit idéal pour les couples, les amis, les réunions de famille, le jardin à l'arrière devrait être le meilleur endroit pour tout le monde en été, c'est comme être dans le monde animal, vraiment trop cool ! Style élégant et rétro avec un effet visuel légèrement naturel, c'est vraiment un classique ! Je pense que j'irai souvent ici❤‍🔥
