So when I spotted this place highlighted on Google maps, of course I needed to check it out! Essentially this viewpoint is in the middle of the barrage bridge. Yes, you do get a great view of the Mont and it's central in photos. Free to access

This is an amazing view of the island. If you are going to visit i would strongly recommend that you visit when the tide is at its highest so that you can see the castle as a true tidal island giving amazing views and incredible photo opportunities. If you are to visit the island itself I would recommend arriving early as it becomes very busy later in the day and is much more enjoyable seeing the island with fewer people around.

Auf der Aussichtsplattform hat man die schönste Aussicht, wenn man sich dem Klosterberg nähert. Die Barrage bzw. das Stauwerk ist bei Weitem nicht allein ein technisches Bauwerk, sondern, mit den Worten des Architekten Luc Weizman, zugleich «ouvrage d'art», ein Kunstwerk. Bei der Gestaltung des nördlichen Abschlusses der Plattform handelt sich um ein bronzenes Geländer mit Blick auf den Mont Saint-Michel, das einem Lesepult nachempfunden ist.
