Hotel La Mère Poulard

Hello! We originally discovered this restaurant via a good friend/ neighbor, who happens to be a well known chef. Anytime a chef gives you a recommendation, you take it!

Dinner was great! A unique menu with the fluffiest omelette you have ever seen or had. The ‘omelette chef’ was a hoot, singing and taping in tune as he cooked. Located right at the entrance you have a great view into the kitchen and feel like you are part of the team!

Lucile and Frank were great hosts, attending to our every need. Great experience, would highly recommend!

Everything was fantastic at this restaurant. Kellia was a wonderful waitress. My wife and I had two exquisite lunches, but first enjoyed two great appetizers. We had the perfect egg either mushrooms a d the smoked salmon dome. For the mains, we has the Couquille St Jacques and the lamb special of the day. To complete this amazing dining experience, we topped it off with the chocolate mouse crumbles with ice cream and a cheese plate. We did imbibe two glasses of delicious white wines from two different types of wine. What a great lunch experience!

The dinner was absolutely exquisite. The omelette was recommended by a Paris-based coworker and it has basically ruined every other omelette for me moving forward. The dessert was also top notch. Well worth every cent.

Louann was absolutely amazing! Had a delicious meal with a fantastic wine recommendation. Only disappointment was not having more room for all of the dessert. Did not need a reservation!

This hotel topped off the most special days we had in France. Wonderful rooms, views of the sea, and delicious breakfast. It was also great to walk around first thing in the morning before anybody arrived. Top notch staff.

We made a stop late on at 3.15 pm at La Mere Poulard. Even though it was 45 minutes to closing we received a very warm welcome. We didn’t see the fuss over omelettes but thought we’d order anyway…. It was fabulous!!! Not like any omelette we’ve ever seen nor eaten. Hubby had omelette I had scallops, both unbelievably good as were the sides. We understand why people queue for 35 Euro omelettes now!! Amazing experience don’t miss it if you can 👍

Very close to the entrance. The room is clean. I just wish that they have a screen on their windows , so you are not afraid to open the windows. The service in the restaurant is excellent. The omelette will not disappoint you. Excellent food!

Ah. To finally return to a place first experienced as a girl of 14 and now as a 60 year old woman. Everything from the servers, location, food and experience made for a simply delightful evening Super generous portions. Truly. They serve a lot of food. Be prepared. We ordered ala carte and it was very affordable for the best of French cooking. The sauces were exceptional. the

We stayed here and also came down to the restaurant. 5/5 experience! The room was newly renovated and the food at the restaurant was really good. My husband and I ordered the cheese omelette and the lamb of the day and they were both delicious. Make sure to arrive at 6:30pm on the clock if you don’t have a reservation!

We just had lunch at restaurant and it was fabulous! Very tasty omelette, like I never had. I knew is famous but it was beyond expectations

Staying on Mont Saint Michel makes all the difference. Roaming the island after dark or at sunrise is magical. This hotel is fine; comfortable stay and well worth being there overnight. The omelette is worth it for once in your life; the best and most unique one you’ll ever have and the staff were wonderful to us.

Everything was fabulous!!! The food was the most delicious we've had in France yet, the service was so comvegial and the show from the chefs on the way in was very entertaining. We think it's the best thing about Mont St. Michel, but we have yet to hike up to the chapel. We are VERY WELL-fueled to do so now!
The omelette deserves to be in the Guinness book!

I’d been dreaming of having Mere Poulard’s famous omelettes for over a décade! (First came to Mt St Michel as a student and could not afford it then). It did not disappoint! The omelettes are fluffy and tasty. I had the “nature” or original flavor, which I had to ask for since it’s not explicitly on the menu. You can really taste the wooden oven aroma. And my husband had the one with cheese blend and the flavors married beautifully. Melinda our waitress was FANTASTIC! She explained everything to us patiently, was a charm. We made this our special destination and was worth my long held expectations! Highly recommend!

Excellent food, and top notch service. I had the world famous omelette. Very light and smooth, a unique experience. My friend had beef, and again, absolutely delicious. Pricey, but definitely worth it.

It's a shame that most of the bad reviews are just for the price of the omelette! A wonderful omelette with excellent texture and balanced taste. I'm glad we didn't pay attention to the complaints and came. We had a great experience in a historic place.

Only went for dinner as a last minute choice and they accommodated us despite having a full booking already. Superb food and excellent service. Very authentic food choices for the Brittany coast area. Highly recommend you try them

We stayed here & had dinner in the restaurant - both were wonderful. We loved staying on the island - the streets became empty in the evening & we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Menu tradition c’est parfait!

It was a good thing to try in Mont Saint Michel. Might not be everyone’s favourite, but if in doubt, give it a try. You won’t regret. Their desserts are phenomenal if the original omelette is not your style.

Sylvain was very helpful and gave us great food and wine recommendations. The omelets lived up to their reputations, particularly the Berger. Very tender lamb and the lamb jus was spectacular. My husband is a chef and he should know!
