L'Etape du Mont,

Extremely friendly host, and the area is clean and well maintained. The beds are really comfy with good amount of privacy, and the outdoor area is also chic and clean, perfect for reading outdoors in the sun.

Breakfast for €5.50 is worth it considering the price of food in the area. Great location too.

One thing to note is that men and women share the same toilet.

A great experience！For tourists who choose to visit the Holy Mountain from Paris to Pontorson, this is a very good choice. The owner is a very humorous person and the service attitude is very friendly. There is a Carrefour supermarket near the hotel and it is also very close to the train station. You can choose to stay here for one night to better explore the Holy Mountain and this town.

The host is very kind, we had an issue that was our fault, but he was very understanding and helpful.
The location is perfect for visiting Mont Saint-Michel. Plus, the room was perfect and the bathroom was renovated.

I really enjoyed my 2 nights at this hostel! I was staying in the standard 10 Bed Mixed Room and the bed was clean and the room is spacious. During my stay, I have met a lot of other travellers and made new friends.

The hostel owner is very nicht and friendly. He explains everything very clearly to us. He explains to us how to get to Mont Saint Michel by buy or by walk or by bicycle. He is so kind to lend me his bicycle to cycle to Mont Saint Michel.

Besides that, the location of the hostel is really great. It is close to Pontorson train station (around 12 minutes walk) and supermarket and bus stop (to Mont Saint Michel) are just nearby.

The common area is very big with many tables, a pool table, a big TV, a kitchen area, etc. There’s also a refrigerator which you can use to keep your food.

Excellent hostel. Everything was clean and convenient, and they even had a bike to use to visit the abbey.

It was possibly the best hostel stay I had. Staff was super polite and took time to explain all questions and every detail. The dorm beds are comfortable with light blocking curtains for each bed. There are personal charging points, lockers and shelves. Totally recommend this place while visiting Mont saint Michael. Bike rental was 10eur (Jul'22) for 24hrs which was super awesome!

I had a great time there! Just 8 km away from the Mont Saint Michel, with good rooms, clean and with very helpfull people ! When I come back there, I am certein that I Will stay again there! They also have bikes for rent

I had a wonderful trip to Mont Saint Michel by public transport with 2 kids and stayed for 2 nights in Pontorson L'Etape du Mont Family Hostel. It's 13 minute's walk from the railway station. It's 10 minute's walk from restaurants, bars, and a small supermarket. I highly recommend this hostel for cleanliness, comfortable and warm beds, staff's hospitality, and route recommendations. And as promised, I will be back to try the local Calvados. Thank you!

I can’t say enough good things about this hostel!

The staff are personable, helpful, and overall just kind individuals. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, and his dedication to ensuring all guests have a fun & exceptional experience at the hostel was very evident.

The common room is equipped with a large TV and other activities (foosball, pool table) that facilitate socializing. The kitchen, also located in the common room, is compact but impeccably clean and has new appliances.

I stayed in the 10-person dorm and found it to be exceptionally clean and more comfortable than most hostels I’ve stayed at. Each bed has a privacy curtain and has 1 outlet and 2 USB ports, plus a couple shelves. Each bed also has its own locker.

There are 2 shower/toilet rooms, 3 urinals, and 1 sink to be shared amongst the hostel guests. The whole bathroom area was clean throughout my stay, was always stocked with toilet paper, soap, etc., and there was always a shower/toilet available when I needed it. However, the hostel was fairly empty during my weeknight stay following a holiday weekend, so bear that in mind.

The location is ideal as well. It’s only a 10 minute walk from the Pontorson - Mont Saint Michel train station, a 3 minute walk to a Carrefour Market and a 4 minute walk to the bus station that will take you to Mont Saint Michel. There’s also a scenic walking/biking path near the hostel that will take you to Mont Saint Michel.

The ambiance is convivial but calm. While the calmness and noise level probably depends on the time of year/ day of week visited, I can’t imagine it would ever be a rowdy party hostel, given its location in a small, quiet town. Additionally, the common area is located on a different floor than all the beds, which would help with noise concerns.

The wifi was quick in the common area and sufficient in the dorm.

There’s a large, fenced in yard with several picnic tables that would be great for families with kids.

Overall, I’d highly recommend this hostel to solo, duo, and family travelers alike. Yes, the hostel checks all the boxes for good vibes, cleanliness, location, etc, but what stands out to me is the owner’s commitment to making sure all guests have the best possible experience while in the hostel and exploring the surrounding areas. That kind of commitment can’t be replicated and is what gives me confidence to recommend this hostel to other, future travelers!

La chambre était conforme à nos attentes. Je dois saluer la propreté exemplaires des douches communes et des toilettes. Dans une auberge de jeunesse, c'est pas si simple.
L'accueil a été super avec des conseils pratiques et sympathiques. Les propriétaires sont des personnes arrangeantes. Merci à vous et nous recommandons l'adresse.

Chambre parfaite en famille et a un prix raisonnable.
Excellent accueil avec des conseils pour visiter et manger.

Tout s’est très bien passé lors de ma nuit passée à l’étape du Mont, le monsieur de l’accueil a été adorable, il m’a donné des conseils pour la visite du Mont Saint Michel de nuit, m’a accompagné jusqu’à mon dortoir, les locaux étaient propres et la localisation parfaite !
Gros + pour le fait que les serviettes de toilette faxent parti du prix de la chambre

Un personnel très accueillant et au petit soins pour ces clients, qui donne de très bon conseil pour les visites des alentours y compris pour le Mont Saint Michel bien sûr 👌

Super hostel près du Mont Saint Michel. Le gérant est super sympathique et le lieu est impeccable. Propre et super bien entretenu. La cuisine est à disposition et le jardin est super agréable. Carrefour, gare SNCF et resto sont tout près ! Baby-foot et billard sont gratuit à jouer ! Super chouette ! Vu que nous sommes deux, le gérant nous a proposé une chambre individuelle que à nous 😍 trop gentil ! Une super belle expérience !

Si vous voulez visiter le Mont Saint Michel et ses alentours, je vous recommande cette auberge/hôtel dont le prix n'est pas cher.

Je suis arrivé à 11H alors que le checking de l'hôtel est à 17H, le propriétaire m'a quand même laissé entrer dans chambre. Les personnels sont très sympathiques et arrangeants.

Les douches et les toilettes, bien qu'elles soient communes, sont très propres et nettoyées tous les jours. Les femmes de ménage de l'hôtel sont hyper-sérieuses.

Location vélos à la disposition, mais qui ne sont pas très adaptés pour le trajet au mont St Michel (je pense).

Une super expérience dans une auberge de jeunesse, le patron est très accueillant et sympathique, nous avons appelé au dernier moment pour un week-end en amoureux. Il est de très bon conseil pour les visites ainsi que le restaurant qu'il nous a indiqué. Proche du Mont st Michel idéalement situé.
Calme, propre, serviable rien à redire.
Petite anecdote quand jai appelé pour réserver qui a marqué notre séjour et le patron nous reconnaîtra "c'est une auberge de jeunesse mais on s'en f.. !!!" 😉😉😉

Ik heb genoten van mijn verblijf. Alles ziet er verzorgd en netjes uit, al helemaal de slaaphal. Echt een aanrader. De afstand tot mont Saint Michel is goed te doen met een auto/motor/fiets. Deze kun je ook veilig parkeren op het terrein van de herberg. Er zijn ook genoeg plekjes in de buurt uit om uit eten te gaan.

L’accueil est très chaleureux, le réceptionniste nous a donné des bons conseils! C’est très propre et les matelas sont confortables. Le café du matin est très appréciable aussi.
