Relaxing walk around the old village, typical coffee and cake sitting outside for a french experience

One of the best bakery’s we visited on our 2 week holiday around France and we visited a lot! We arrived around 8:30am and a lovely guy served us and spoke English instead of my very bad French! They were honestly the best croissants and aux raisins we have had!

Fab bakery in Monpazier. Some of the best croissants I have had in France, try the pain au Raisin if you like them. Baguettes and coffee are good to. Firm local favourite.

It was Monday in November and threatening rain as we popped inside the doorway as thunder went crashing. We thought being warm and dry would be enough but the four chocolate cake put everything over the top and we left with hoods raised and sunshine in our hearts (and stomachs).

Bread is probably a very personal affair. We liked the bread here very much. For traditional French bread, two varieties are on sale. We preferred the baguette traditional. Some whole grain options are offered as well, we preferred the Wallkorn. Cakes are beautifully decorated but we didn't try any so I cannot comment it. Sandwiches, coffee and ice cream are also offered. There's place to sit both inside and outside.

This is THE best bread I have had in France. Every kind is good here. I eat the "tradition" regularly. I am happy every time I do.

An oasis in touristy Monpazier with friendly people and tasteful, but reasonably priced, produce. The walnut pies with caramel are delicious. Gold goes to the Macaron Pistache et Framboise. Hands down the best macaron you will ever taste.
