La Mule du Pape

We called in for a coffee in the sunshine (and wind) and ended up staying for a lovely long lunch and a couple of glasses of very pleasant white wine. We chose the Menu du Jour and we were not disappointed - it was also great value for money.
The staff were brilliant. They were so accommodating and friendly towards us and everyone else.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was great - such a buzz and a mixture of tourists and locals.

Great food and presentation. The menu of the day was fantastic, and was a good mix of a fresh starter and heavier main course. Unique flavors and so far one of my favorite restaurants in the region.

The service was fantastic, the waitresses were very very nice and friendly. The food was very good. overall great experience. The atmosphere is very cool because you are in the Centre of town and get to see everything going around, people watching just a lot of fun. Me and my wife ate there 3 times.

Iconic location in the heart of Chateauneuf de Pâpe! The staff is incredible and wonderfully attentive. The food, and of course the wine, is outstanding!

A group of 5 of us stopped by for a late lunch when their kitchen was closed until dinner service. Didn’t much matter though because the very friendly staff were able to help us understand that they do have some snacks available.
After a couple rounds of great wine and great cocktails, along with plenty of bread and butter, a tin of tuna, and a charcuterie board we felt plenty satisfied until dinner service.
We went back a couple more times over our short trip and loved it each time.

Everything was perfect. The service is excellent and very friendly outgoing staff. They were running table to table it was so busy and they still did an outstanding job. The main was delicious. The desert was formidable.

Offering is varied and addressing either meat lovers, fish fans and vegetarian customers with top quality products!
Service was superb, waitresses caring which led to a unique and memorable experience. Ours was very attentive to our needs wich made our experience exceptional.

The service was very good, friendly and quite fast. The "Vin du moment" was very smooth and tasty. The food was amazing, thr Saint Pierre was out of this world and the Burger was my favorite (except the spek). Would come back to try other dishes for sure, price matches the quality of the food.

I feel as if I need to offset some of the negativity here as we almost didn't stop - great salads and plat du jour, fantastic ambiance outside on a sunny day and friendly, relaxed service

We were served a good chataunef du pape, suggested by the waitresses served at the proper temperature.
Food with flavour, well cooked served on time.
The waitress was very helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience. Recommend for all non French speaking since they will make every effort to accommodate those of us who are not well versed in french.

Lovely little eatery in a beautiful and famous village. Plat de jour €18 and wine circa €10. Has a hotel lobby type decor but doesn’t feel touristy trash furniture. Staff are very courteous and look after you. Had the pork and rather enjoyed it!

Very good service. They did not hesitate to speak English and politely corrected my bad French. The avocado was good, the fish was excellent, and the faux groix trilogy was trés bien.

Visited several times over the wine festival, one particular server was brilliant. He did everything to understand our language barrier. Always crossing paths to see if we needed anything else, even brought over some cards for the children to play. Not sure if he was the owner or not but he was very passionate. Ate here on the Sunday evening and the food was good. The cold beer was a very welcome break from all the wine. Would recommend and would return.

Fantastic tartare with amazing service!

I had an amazing time! The atmosphere was great, but the food was amazing! As in all of Europe, people smoke. Nothing against the restaurant! If you don’t smoke, grab an inside seat! All great, though!

These five stars are for the service. The food was perfectly fine, but the waitress was, I think, the best I’ve ever encountered in France, with a rare gift for perfectly-timed hospitality.
