Lucky find in Carcassonne. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, which is very rare in France. Can highly recommend vegan cassoulet! Its a local speciality that is both delicious and very filling, but this restaurant offers a vegan version. Fantastic!

Fantastic restaurant. Very friendly. We went for breakfast but there were only drinks and food will only be served after 12. We had cups of hot chocolate. The waitress talked nicely and patiently with kids in French. Other people who had coffee there also made greeting with kids, it has an atmosphere of neighborhood . We then decided to come back for lunch later.

The food is really nice cooked, very delicate flavors. Just need to be very patient, it took us about 2 hours for lunch.

Very nice staff. We don't speak French but they did not make us feel bad. Good recommendations on wine and food. Excellent meal.

We visited Carcassonne during our holiday in the South of France, and were glad to have found this restaurant in this lovely part of the city. We mainly chose this establishment due to its vegan options on the menu.

I ordered the vegan burger (Las Vegan Paradox), which was very good, with fresh fries and a side salad. My parents also were happy with their food choices (Cheese Burger, Salade Bergère).

Great place that has both meat and vegan options (great for my vegetarian sister), tasty food and well priced. Few wine options by the glass but great value and the rose was really nice. Staff were very busy but attentive and spoke English as well. Super busy tues night (did get a little loud) so might need to book during busy periods.

Amazing amazing experience. We did like others; got recommended the brasserie on the corner, didn't like it and walked elsewhere to come across Cafe De La Comedie a stone's throw down the umbrella alley and right beside the theatre.

Zero complaints. Nothing but praise.
Food - excellent. Tasty, filling, affordable. My only regret is not having a bigger stomach or taking more photos. Try the alcoholic ice cream. Their house wines are great but extended menu is affordable and delicious.
Atmosphere - fantastic. Perfectly positioned to people watch all day, just between the main road and Place Carnot so constant traffic and people, lots of sunshine and not direct sunlight. Right beside the theatre and a warm, homely, casual atmosphere from the place itself.
Staff - Killer. Absolutely made our visit, and made our entire holiday. Valentine(?) was affable, personable and lovely the entire time, remembered us, said hi even when walking past and even remembered our drinks from the day before.

If you get the chance stop in. The service is relaxed, the food excellent and the staff superb.

Friendly, helpful service, we let them know we were a little hurried due to having a plane to catch and the waiter was very cooperative, advising against the cassoulet which takes a while to prepare.
The dishes we received (duck leg, pasta with chicken & courgette, menu enfant with chicken) were subtly flavoured, creatively garnished, and even the menu enfant came early, whether due to children being less patient or because children are slow eaters and we had mentioned the plane I don't know. Cafe gourmand a delight, including the rich espresso, a highlight.

We just had a wonderful dinner - the best we had in 3 days we spend in Carcassonne! The owners and staff are kind and with attention to their customers and the food they offer. We came quite late and still the service was warm and welcoming. We ate the local specialty „cassoulet“ which was homemade and just wonderful. We highly recommend you visit this restaurant over others in the market square. Thank you very much to the Café de la Comédie for a wonderful evening!!!

Really good to see quality vegan choices in France, and clearly labelled. Same for GF.
We had cassoulet followed by apple and blackcurrant crumble

Try the Cassoulet, it’s one of the best meals I’ve had in a long long time. Nice atmosphere with light upbeat music serenading you while you eat outside. Cassoulet + 25 cl red wine for 19.50 Euros.

I had a salmon dish with some sort of olive sauce that was delicious. If anyone could tell me what that sauce was that would be great.

The first night we got to Carcassonne (on a Wednesday at around half past eight) we could not find a lot of open restaurants. At first Google showed us a pub just at the corner of the road for this restaurant but it was full and didn't look great. So went down the street for a bit and came across this restaurant. The staff and the owner were very forthcoming and the menu was delightful. The full price for two people, for a full menu and a bottle of wine, came up to around 80 euros. I had some foie gras as a starter and a perfectly cooked tuna steak as main course. My wife had some tomato mozzarella as a starter and some local "cassoulet" as a main course. The lot was awesome and I definitely recommend this place! If ever we get close by we'll come down again
