Lovely restaurant, open kitchen inside so you can watch the chefs create their magic. Also nice outdoor seating. Food was delicious, service perfect, shout out to our waiter for the great recommendations on the menu as well as things to do in the area, which were very helpful :)

Delicately assembled dishes without the exorbitant price tag of haute cuisine restaurants.

The dishes contain a mix of textures and subtle flavours. I particularly liked the dessert, which wasn't overly sweet, with a mix of fresh fruit, crunchy sugar crystals and soft cream.

I appreciated the presence of vegetarian options, not always a given in French restaurants.

The restaurant itself was a little basic, but clean, with a view on the chef preparing the dishes.

By far the best restaurant in Cordes. A proper culinary experience. Open kitchen, informed servers. The chef came round to speak to all the tables at the end. They have one meat, one fish and one vegetable dish so not lots of choice but meant that each dish had a lot of thought and care put into them. Highly recommend to anyone in the area

My wife and I had a great experience at Aster! The food was delicious, lovely views beside a creek, and the service was top notch. Special shoutout to the owner, Josh, and our server, Max for going above and beyond to make our experience memorable.

So happy to have found Aster’s open just after New Year. Always looking for restaurants with character and chefs who are masters at their craft and this is one of them. A small menu with offerings for vegetarians & meat eaters. The flavouring and combination were mouth watering, along with the chefs excellent wine choice.
If I ran a restaurant again this would be a place I’d be looking to replicate.

We had an amazing dinner at Aster. The staff was very friendly, the food selection was a good cross section of local flavors with options for everyone. We all raved about how tasty and fresh our dinners were. The chef and owner is from Portland in the US so we got many of our local French questions answered. Don’t pass up this place. Make reservation as the restaurant can be quite popular.

Very fresh, very local and very delicious. The chef is charming and knowledgeable. I love the local traditional foods of the region and I love Josh's spin - so elegant. The flavors leap off the plate. I'm planning on being a regular😁🇫🇷

Discovered yesterday the place, a bit tucked away in the center of Les Cabannes, by bike. The lunch was great with a different view on creating the dish of a filled eggplant. Healthy and tasty. With my interest in wines I could expand my knowledge by trying many natural wines. A great list to experience with the next time with a diner.
Happy to find a quality restaurant in the area of Cordes sur Ciel in an atmosphérique room. Worth to stop many times in the future!

The ‘new kid on the block’ ! Excellent service, good food, limited menu but hey it’s early days, things can always change! Our waitress/sommelier was very knowledgeable and attentive.
It was good to see Josh centre stage- we just need to save up and get him a new hat!!🤣 he’s too young to remember Benny off Crossroads!! Keep up the good work, looking forward to my next visit. Barry

Aster is not only the best restaurant in Cordes sur Ciel, but the best between here and Albi or Varen!

This wonderful restaurant run by my neighbour, sources the best seasonal local products and showcases the regional "terroir" exceptionally.

Chef Josh's plating is of Michelin caliber, and his occasional co-chef, Australian Tess Davison, previously worked at Noma restaurant in Copenhagen that has been awarded three Michelin stars.

Make sure not to leave town without having a meal at Aster, and experience the wonderful hospitality of his international team from Israel, Poland Germany and France.

Wauw what a wonderful restaurant, a gem !, we needed this in our area! Modern and very well executed and non-fuzzy dishes, wonderful waitress and Josh is a great chef indeed! We only went for lunch two times thus far but both times it was delicious, yesterday we took as main dish the vegetarian dish. Which is another great thing: proper and very tasty vegetarian food is also served, a must for all of us: egalement en France ! One important item to address is the poor acoustics of the dining room. It is very hard to have a conversation when the restaurant is not even full, which by the way it was the last time and almost full the previous time which says it all of course: Quality !! :) there are simple ways to improve it, not overly costly. Get some advice I would recommend. Besides that it has the potential to change les Cabannes and further improve the village which is one of the little gems in the Tarn. Merci Josh et equipe !

Aster is an authentic labor of love that combines the best of French, American, and global influences. The tasteful, bright interior corresponds with the high quality cuisine that ranges from classic coffee shop standards to inventive new creations. Unfussy and welcoming, the friendly and attentive owner can be seen at work in the open kitchen. Service is warm, efficient and thoughtful. Modifications and special options to suit all diets can be made with sufficient advance notice. Aster is also a community hub and the convivial ambiance promises the possibility of making new friends in addition to the certainty of an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner. Enjoy the find!

Alors par où commencer ? Nous avons fait la découverte de ce restaurant par curiosités car nous passions devant le panneau tous les jours et là quelle découverte c’est un petit endroit très cocooning, le personnel toujours souriants et aimables. Les chiens sont acceptés. Et les assiettes sont belles au yeux mais aux papilles aussi. Je recommande les yeux fermés

Sitio encantador. Comida deliciosa, elaborada y saludable. La atención es inmejorable. Puedes ver a la cocinera preparar los platos mientras comes. El mousse de chocolate con helado de miso está increíble.

Probablement le meilleur resto du coin. Super accueil, endroit charmant, nourriture intéressante et bonne.

Aster est situé dans le village des Cabanes en contrebas de Cordes sur Ciel ,une petite terrasse sous les arcades près de la rivière,une salle lumineuse,le service est dynamique et souriant
La carte est resserré,4 entrées,3 plats et 3 desserts,la carte des vins et cocktails est très intéressante .
Nos entrées et plats furent délicieux et copieux
Le restaurant est ouvert le midi du mercredi au dimanche ,le soir du mercredi au samedi ,nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir

Un coup de cœur. Dans un petit village près de Cordes trouvé cette qualité de cuisine et ce soin dans la sélection des vins et un service attentif et sympathique fut une très bonne surprise.
Un seul regret n'être venu que pour le déjeuner car la carte dîner nous donnait vraiment envie !

Superbe petite table moderne cachée au cœur des cabanes. Cuisine contemporaine fraîche et pleine de saveurs, accueil et service très agréable. Une belle petite pépite qui sort des sentiers battus !
