Stunning food, stunning location. So so good, oh mon dieux 😍

Every dish was outstanding, the wait staff so warm and friendly and the location is like from a movie. By far the best meal of our trip. It was a bit pricy, but nothing crazy and well worth it.

To start I had a non-alcoholic cocktail of passion fruit, mango (?) and I don't actually know what the red stuff is. The flavour was super intense, sharp and tasty without being too sweet. 10/10

Next we got complimentary beef and carrot with little slices of toast. Firstly, getting free food is always nice. It makes you feel welcome. The dish itself was great, not too heavy, flavourful and interesting. 9/10

For starters we both had foie gras. It's a specialty of the region, with just about every shop selling it, so we had to try it. Also wifey was extremely jealous of my lunch in Bergerac so she didn't want to miss out again. It was divine. Tender, rich and juicy. The sauces it was served with paired well and with plenty left over we mopped it up with more complimentary bread. 10/10

For mains I ordered the lamb and vegetables. Lamb was lovely and tender, rich but not heavy and matched well with the vegetables which were simply boiled or steamed. The green (mint?) sauce around the plate added some intensity and sharpness that paired very well with the meat. 9/10

Wife had the duck leg with orange sauce. She really enjoyed it, the duck meat was fresh and fragrant, not too rich as duck sometimes is. Skin was crispy, potatoes had a nice crunch on the outside, but creamy inside. 8/10

For dessert I had the chocolate mousse. They were very careful to let me know this is made with dark chocolate and it's not a very sweet dessert. I think desserts that pile on sugar are like horror movies that rely on jump scares - a cheap trick. This mousse was outstanding. The cocoa flavour of the crumble and the mousse were so intense. Perfect end to my meal. 10/10

Wife had the walnut caramel tart which was a sweeter dessert, but again, sugar was not the primary taste. I don't know how they do it, but the caramel was so intensely rich, with the nut flavour singing through, the whole thing texturally dense and chewy, fudgy. Amazing. 10/10

I almost wanted to swap dessert, but that chocolate mousse had me seeing stars. I'm going to dream about it...

I cannot recommend this place enough. An absolute gem.

We walked out of another restaurant in Sarlat & decided we wanted a special meal, so this was our choice. We had eaten here 7 years ago & we were hoping it was just as good. We were not disappointed. We sat out on the terrace & had a lovely meal with 3 courses set at 55 euros. The standouts were the duck & the chicken. The cocktail with champagne shot was delicious & the chablis was very smooth. The gourmand dessert with champagne gave you a small taste of 4 desserts. My only criticism is that they could offer a purely vegetarian option on the mains menu. Taking the pork out of the fish dish is not making it vegetarian. We left feeling it had been one of the better meals on our trip.

One of the most idyllic and restful places to dine after a long day of sight seeing. A beautiful building and garden, the food is also based on local ingredients but with a unique approach, like the Dolmas, duck wrapped in grape leaves.. Lovely kids menu as well!

Absolutely superb. Huge portions. The duck breast reduction must've taken days to fix. It was so good. Chocolate dessert. Wow!!!

An up scale French restaurant in a historical building. Beautiful surrounding, high quality dining. Lovely to have a drink in the garden before dinner. Very popular and advance booking is recommended.

Friendly attentive staff. And imaginative dishes: duck dolmas were great! But be careful the dishes are large!

Sarlat has a great range of restaurants and this is at the upper end of the market for quiet and elegant dining. Unlike many that have street dining, this has its own private garden. We had no trouble getting a table, but suspect that it's worth making a reservation in the holiday seasons.

If in Sarlat le Caneda and you want to avoid all teh identical tourist trap restaurants around the market place try to head up the hill to the Presidial.
Very nice setting in beautiful and tranquil garden and very competent wait staff. Menus with local specialities, but at a visible higher level of culinary prowess than wat you will find in the tourist traps.

Beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle but in the centre.
Food was exceptional and service was great with very attentive staff.
Pricy compare to other restuarants but good quality and value for money.

A fantastic location in the heart of a quiet quarter of Sarlat, off the beaten track and set in the grounds of a centuries old court. You eat a truly wonderful meal from a not overly comprehensive menu, a choice of really good wines are available for a reasonable price. Excellent service. Try not to miss the chance to book a table, it is not easy to just walk in, you must make a reservation before going there as it is normally full.

Sublime dining in a quiet gorgeous building just off the tourist track. We had lamb chops with sage sabayon sause, mashed potatoes and vegetables: the other dish beef in brioche, mushrooms

A restaurant very worthy of its reputation. A quiet place in a hectic little tourist mecca
