La Barde - Montfort

Fabulous place, excellent hosts, great area, lots to do and see close by. Eric & Virginie provided a beautiful environment, great atmosphere, delicious breakfasts, etc. There is also the option of purchasing dinner. Virginie is an outstanding cook and our meals were superb. The entire place is super clean. We were in the Veronica suite which was very spacious, had its own entrance & lovely garden outside, with a view of Montfort Castle.
The pool is lovely & comfortable to swim in. There is hiking
in the area surrounding the property, lovely area for walks & bike rides as well. Most of all, Virginie & Eric are very kind, thoughtful, helpful & knowledgeable hosts, happy to interact with their guests & assist them in any way they can. Highly recommend.

A luxurious break in a beautiful location. One of the best B & B's I have stayed in. Why? Very large and comfortable accommodation with stylish decor throughout. Peaceful location with pretty garden and a pool. Breakfast was fresh, healthy and always changing, great variety. Hosts were a special blend of friendly, helpful, kind but also had a genuine concern that you would enjoy being on holiday in their property. Location is excellent to experience a range of varied and different activities from visiting beautiful gardens, interesting and pretty villages, prehistoric cave paintings and cycling and water sports. One restaurant within walking distance, others a short drive nearby. If you are offered the opportunity to have dinner at the B & B, definately say yes. Fantastic meal and you are treated like a princess. And did I mention the village has its very own castle!

La Barde is a unique and special experience. Frederique and Pascal are genuine, enthusiastic hosts ready to help you in any way they can to enjoy your stay in this beautiful area. The rooms are comfortable and inviting, the breakfasts are varied with local delights and lively conversations with the hosts and, other guests. We spent 5 nights and easily could have stayed a month, lots to do, see, eat and enjoy in this wonderful location in the Dordogne region! We highly recommend, and hope to return again.

Frédérique and Pascal's lovely home is in a beautiful and peaceful location, ideally situated for for visiting this gorgeous area. Our room was fabulous, breakfast delicious, including cheese, meat, yogurt, pastries and homemade preserves and cake. Frédérique and Pascal were full of tips and recommendations and chatting with them and other guests over breakfast was great fun. It is ideal for an overnight stop or a longer stay. Thank you both for being so welcoming and hospitable. We would love to return. D&M

We spent 4 nights in June at La Barde in the comfortable and elegantly decorated Orphee room which leads onto a lovely private outdoor seating area.

Frédérique and Pascal are the perfect hosts, they were really friendly and helpful in booking restaurants and recommending amazing places to visit. We really liked Les Jardins d’eau, a delightful alternative to the many amazing chateaux in the area.

Breakfast was a very friendly communal affair with lots of delicious home made jams and cakes.

There is so much to see and do in this area, La Barde is a lovely restful place to come home to.

Very nice location in Vitrac near Sarlat (but beware, there is more than one Vitrac in France and the other one is in the middle of nowhere Grrr... )
Very friendly hosts that did not complain about about my very late arrival (see comment here above about Vitrac !!!)
Good accommodation although for me, as I was planning to do some work, there was no table/desk in the room for that purpose.

Pity that the weather was as bad as what I was hoping to escape from in Belgium, because the pool looked very inviting and the garden area in front of my room would have been a delight to relax in the sun (if there only he would have appear).
Maybe next time ....

I would go back to this place thank to the friendliness of the hosts.

Peace and quiet, nice and tidy rooms, beautiful surroundings, lovely garden and excellent swimming pool.
But above all friendly and helpful owners who do everything to make their guests comfortable. A well cared for and extensive breakfast, tips to explore the area and culinary recommendations, in short, a stay to remember.

Spent a lovely long weekend here with my elderly parents. Great location just outside Sarlat. Rooms were clean, comfortable, large and really well furnished. Good choice for breakfast and lots of it. The hosts were charming, exceedingly helpful and patient. They helped us organise days that were practical for my disabled mother and they checked which local restaurants had good wheelchair access. Their help made our weekend much less stressful and more enjoyable - they really went the extra mile for us and their local knowledge was invaluable. I would recommend La Barde to anyone looking for a b&b in Sarlat.

We had a fabulous stay with my husband. Big and good breakfast with housemade jam, cake and pancakes. The owners were very kind and have lent us a centilator with this hot weather. It was perfect to do the visits in the morning and we enjoied the nice swimming-pool in the afternoon.

We stayed five nights, I'd recommend it without hesitation. Pascal and Frederique were very welcoming and, over breakfast, gave us numerous tips as to places to go and what to see.
Tasty home-made jams at breakfast too!

My husband and I recently spent 6 wonderful days at La Barde and we hated to leave. Everything was superb! The rooms were spacious, common areas were comfortable and convenient, and the gardens were a delight to be in. Our hosts, Marie and Philippe did everything to make our stay special.....the breakfasts were outstanding! and their assistance and kindness was much appreciated.
The home is well situated for touring the Dordogne area and we would recommend the area and particularly La Barde Montford to anyone considering a trip to this region of France.

Gorgeous spot & great location. Handy to all sightseeing. Pascal & Frederique were great hosts-will definitely return-they were very helpful in suggesting places to visit & restaurants to dine in. 5 stars from us.

We stayed for 8 nights with Pascal and Frederique who couldn't have been more accommodating hosts. The guesthouse is lovely, particularly the pool, and very well located right by the river and within an easy drive of various beautiful towns like Domme and Sarlat. Highly recommended!!

We chose La Barde for its location and didn't regret it. Everything was really perfect: comfy rooms, very friendly hosts, hearty and good quality breakfast. We hope to be back soon!

Nous avons passé deux jours à la Barde de Montfort. Nous étions avec un couple d'amis, et avons pu profiter d'un très bon repas préparé par nos hôtes. Un grand salon nous est gentiment mis à disposition, ce qui nous a permis de papoter devant les thés et tisanes à disposition. Les chambres sont grandes, et très propres, la literie est très confortable, le petit déjeuner est incroyable, et nos hôtes vraiment charmants. La proximité du gite de Sarlat ne gâche rien. Nous recommandons ce gite atypique où tout est fait pour que l'on se sente bien. La piscine doit être un plus.. mais en Janvier ... .Au plaisir d'y revenir pour s'y baigner.
