We visited the St David’s branch which is inside the cathedral refectory (we got a little lost initially). Really lovely little cafe - the ladies serving were very polite and the food warm and hearty. We had the vegetable cawl and savoury Welsh cakes with cheese and beans - both recommended. Impressed with the freshness and variety of Welsh cakes on offer. Would definitely come back!

Wonderful choice for all our family's oddities, the veggie breakfast was especially impressive though I think we wouldn't get three pancakes again... Even hungry garcons couldn't finish them

Fantastic local business serving great food in the heart of Solva. We enjoyed the wide choice that catered for vegans and gluten free as well as full breakfasts with the added delicious Welsh cakes.

With limited seating you might have to wait a short time to get a table, but it is worth the wait.

Needed refreshments whilst exploring Solva, so gave Mamgu Welshcakes Café a go. We sat outside as we had our dog, but they allow dogs inside, if they are well behaved. We had a decaf Americano and a choca mocha. Both were delightful, and we had a lemon Welshcake and a Choca Mocha Welshcake. They warmed them up (sorry for the ignorance, but that's a first for us) and they were delicious, so fluffy and light. Staff were lovely, so thoroughly recommend them if in Solva.

This was my first time trying Welshcakes. What a revelation. They were absolutely delicious! Service was also great, lovely staff. We had the coconut and lime, dark chocolate and orange, ginger and plain Welshcakes. All really yummy, even the baby enjoyed them! Latte was great too. They have a food menu and do savoury Welshcakes too but we couldn't try these as we visited 20 minutes before closing time and just didn't have long enough. We will be back whenever we come back to Pembrokeshire on holiday.

Amazing breakfast - the rarebit tasted simply awesome!
There also is a vast selection of different welshcakes available - we tried quite a few and all of them were very tasty!
The place filled up pretty quick after opening, so booking a table might be a good idea.

Every time we come home we have to visit MamGu! We had a breakfast bap each which came with a savoury Welshcake. We also came in on a 2 other occasions for coffee and had sweet flavoured Welshcakes. Everything was delicious!

Ate in for breakfast and it was great - savory Welshcakes are served with all the breakfast baps, which are amazing. Lovely coffee. Both the atmosphere and decor are brilliant too.

Bought some sweet Welshcakes to take away and they were out of this world. The spicing is spot on - lush! Well worth a visit if you're eating in or taking away.

Such a lovely place to stumble across! A lovely warm welcome on a grey and rainy day. We had a selection of sweet Welsh cakes and highly recommend the maple pecan ones and the coconut and chocolate ones. Bought a packet of gluten free cinnamon ones to take away for a friend. Great to find gluten free and vegan ones on the menu. We’ll definitely be back to try the savoury ones!

We enjoyed a light lunch of Beetroot Falafels and a fiery chilled Ginger beer. The Falafel's were very nicely presented and complemented with a mixed salad dressed with a balsamic dressing. As a vegetarian I welcomed the options available.

On a very hot day we appreciated being able to sit indoors in the shade.
We thought it good value for a Cafe so near the harbour front.

I've been coming to Pembrokeshire every summer since childhood, as my family are all from here, but this summer (2021) with Covid affecting holidaymakers has been THE busiest year ever.

My wife and I managed to get away from our 3month old for the first time to have lunch and managed to get a table at MamGu. Despite the incredible busyness, it was just wonderful.

The staff are lovely, and kind. The space and atmosphere are beautiful. But as it should be in any cafe/restaurant, the food was the star. We had the 'dirty wrap' each (veggie for me, lamb for her) and they were simply INCREDIBLE. Every ingredient was fresh. Every mouthful filled with flavour. Even the balsamic glaze on the salad was stunning. I can't over-sell how wonderful this was.

And for afters, 'welsh afternoon tea' of welsh cakes with jam & cream... Just mouth-watering.

The whole time we were there (approx 1.5hrs) the queue never stopped once for people coming in just to get welsh cakes. That should tell you all you need to know.

Wonderful. Thank you.

Have been to MamGu several times and always thrilled by the quality of the welshcakes. This time had the delicious leek and cheese welshcakes with beans & cheese (takeaway as cafe was full). Took down to the harbour and ate watching the boats.

Can highly recommend their mail order service if you fancy a treat!

Wonderful little place. Really friendly staff and the food was superb. Had a little wait as it was very busy but it was worth it. Don’t forget to buy the Welsh cake dough. It’s freezable so perfect for a that take home treat.

Never had Welsh cakes before. I really enjoyed it, but found the raspberry & dark chocolate one that I had a little dry. The Welshcake ice-cream was so very tasty & I'm glad I had a scoop along with the Welshcake. It was also really nice to have the option of having the Welshcake warm.

The staff were really friendly & helpful. Really nice atmosphere inside this restaurant. Despite being busy, the food came quickly.
