HLP Therapy

I am a midwife who has her own company (The Birth Preparation Midwife) doing complementary therapies for pregnancy, postnatal and more! Scar massage is the perfect addition to the services I offer, I am so excited to be able to offer scar massage - a much needed treatment for women after c-section. I had such an enjoyable day at HLP Therapy - Hannah is such a lovely, knowledgeable person who I have learnt lots from and is really making a difference with peoples scars. Thank you so much! Had the such a brilliant day with Hannah doing the 1:1 Scar Therapy course with her. It was great seeing clients with her and learning so much about such a variety of scars and products, building on my knowledge as a scar therapist. Excellent teacher sharing a wealth of knowledge and expertise on not just scar therapy but also running a business and boosting my confidence. I've come away looking forward to putting it all into practice and implementing a few new things. Worth every penny!!

I have recently attended the Foundation C-section and abdominal scarring course with Hannah. The course was well presented and I really enjoyed practicing on real patients. It was also great to have Pam, the rep to show us her products available. I'm enjoying using my new skills in clinic.

I recently attended the foundation c-section and abdominal scarring course with Hannah. I’d be waiting months to attend this course and it did not disappoint!! Hannah is unbelievably knowledgable around the subject and is so friendly and happy to pass on all her wisdom. There was an excellent balanced of “desk based” learning and practical. If you are thinking of attending the course do it…you won’t be disappointed!

I have just completed a one to one clinic day training with Hannah and can highly recommend this to practitioners wanting to develop their scar therapy skills. We worked together with a variety of patients, there was plenty of “hands on” opportunities as well as learning about products and devices and their benefits to scars. It is a privilege to observe Hannah work with her patients, her knowledge and skills are phenomenal and I have returned to my clinic with finely tuned scar therapy skills and loads of ideas for developing my scar therapy offerings for clients.

This was an excellent course filled with current clinical research and background which really justified the importance of this area of specialist treatment. There was a really good opportunity to practice the different techniques on a variety of real patients which really helped consolidate learning and observe the positive effects of different treatment methods. Hannah is a natural teacher, knowledgeable, experienced and passionate about her subject..I would hugely recommend this course to any clinician wanting to really enhance their toolkit.

I had 3 sessions with Hannah after my c-section with my second child. She was absolutely wonderful from the start, making me feel at ease with the treatment process and what I needed to do in my own time to speed up the healing of the scar. She explained everything she was doing throughout the session so I felt knowledgeable about the treatment, and spent time talking to me about my own experiences - as a result I felt completely at ease in Hannah's care. I cannot recommend HLP Therapy enough, and will be encouraging all of my friends who have had/are having a c-section to book in! Hannah is extremely kind and friendly, has extensive knowledge and expertise, and I am so glad I went to her for my scar therapy. Thank you to Hannah and her lovely team!

I attended the Abdominal and C Section Scar Therapy Course in Essex in March 2024. The course was amazing. Hannah has so much knowledge and skills to share, using cutting edge treatments that I’m hoping to incorporate into my own clinical practice. I’ve just completed my 1 to 1 scar therapy training with Hannah in clinic. I couldn’t recommend this training with Hannah more to other Women’s Health Physiotherapists wanting to offer exceptional scar therapy to their clients. Hannah is so warm and friendly but also hugely experienced and knowledgeable. The training was perfectly balanced between theory and practice. Having time with Hannah was incredibly helpful and motivating. I’m excited to go back and put into practice the things I’ve learnt. A solid 5 stars!

I completed my first Scar Therapy training course with Hannah and what an educational day it was! Hannah is such a wonderful lady and has so much knowledge to share with both her clients and myself on the course. The day was well planned, allowed plenty of time to ask questions, and I had ample opportunity to practice manual skills and use up-to-date technology. A big thank you also to the lovely Grace who works with Hannah and made sure we were well looked after all day, and of course to the clients who couldn't have been more supportive in allowing me to join their scar therapy journey. Cannot recommend a 1:1 with Hannah highly enough!

I completed the Advanced C-Section Scar Therapy course with Hannah and her team last weekend at The Spire Manchester. Hannah is so knowledgeable and her style of teaching allowed me to absorb so much. Hannah instantly puts the class at ease and her energy is so lovely. We got to do 1:1 sessions with Mum's that have had C-Sections and put what we were taught in to practice. Fabulous course!!!

Where do I start.. I can not thank Hannah enough for the support, guidance and amazing scar therapy that she has provided for my C-Section scar. Hannah is so knowledgeable and passionate about women’s health. I have been seeing Hannah for over a year and am sad that my sessions have come to an end. My scar looks and feels amazing as does the area above my scar which was my main concern when I first saw Hannah. This has been one of the best investments for my health and well-being. I am so grateful to the friend who recommended Hannah to me after I had an emergency C section. I saw Hannah 3 times in the first 7 months postpartum. She really helped me navigate the recovery in a healthy way - from scar massage and therapy, to pelvic floor and abdominal wall assessment. She gave me a tailored exercise recommendations to rebuild my core (I’ve yet to to start that properly due to being so busy with my little one…shhh) and her support has helped me get back on my feet and now I have taken up running again with Couch to 5k. In those early weeks postpartum, it was so easy to doubt whether I could ever run again but now I’m doing it pain-free and loving it! My scar is healing brilliantly, having followed her advice to do regular scar massage and apply silicone as well. I looked forward to each of my appointments with Hannah as she’s very holistic in her approach, provides lots of space to listen, cry and have a laugh and I’ve always left feeling more confident and capable in my postpartum body. I feel lucky I could afford to see Hannah! I highly recommend her and I hope she is still practising if I ever have another baby in the future!

I had a fanatic time on a 1:1 clinic day course with Hannah and Grace at HLP Therapy! What a treat for me! From the moment I booked, Grace couldn’t be more helpful in organising everything and making sure I knew what and where to go. She welcomed me with a smile and a fresh cuppa! I was treated so well through the day. The knowledge sharing and openness from Hannah about all things scar therapy was superb, and I feel I have learnt so much about all aspects of running a scar therapy service and being able to provide a wonderful service for my local clients.

I have suffered with abdominal pain from an appendectomy scar for over a year. After just 2 sessions with Hannah I have seen a massive improvement not just in my pain levels but in the appearance of the scar itself. Hannah has been amazing, she is incredibly knowledgeable and is excellent at explaining what she's doing and why, and the benefits it will have, and also is very open about further options to explore but putting the decision of what I want with me, making sure I am fully informed. She is also very easy to talk to and get in with during a session, which makes the time fly. I can't recommend HLP and Hannah highly enough. Thank you Hannah.
