Great service here, as always. This is one of those last treasure troves of a great hardware shop...where strange and odd keys may still find a brother blank to be cut into their individual shape! A traditional ironmunger offering a low lit cave of many and varied things. From a single screw to a cast iron Japanese tea pot, to a mop head or a skillet or a length of hosepipe a key cut or a plaque engraved more and more and much more to discover. Quality of products and service unequalled by the major outlets, Matthew's deserves to be the first call.

Been going here for years. It is like a tardis packed full of diy and kitchen hardware but looks small from the outside. You can go here and explain your problem and they'll have something to sort it.

I have shopped at Matthews & Son since I moved to North Wales and since the shop's establishment. I have never left unsatisfied. I tell Jeremy his shop is like Aladdin's Cave (and anybody else who will listen) - it has everything. If not, (which is highly unlikely) Jeremy knows a man who has or can. Long may they continue.

As always - brilliant. Enormous range of everyday reguisites. In my case a replacement glass for a three cup cafetiere, and latch for a loft hatch. Both found in minutes. Proprietor, Jeremy is a mine of useful information. I first started using Mathews and Son when I moved to North Wales in 1989. In those days the shop was in Rhyl. When the shop moved to Old Colwyn it retained my patronage. I have been a regular customer for 29 years. In that time I have only once failed to find what I wanted - to be fair a 100ml. Pyrex measuring flask isn't a commonly requested item!! Great shop, delightful owner, and without any doubt my favourite shop by a country mile.

If you're looking for a good ironmonger, this is it !! In fact its the best in all Wales. Service here is second to none. So too the prices. So why on earth go anywhere else.!!
