Bostall Library is a gem in the desert.
I have been coming here for few months with my two kids. You can borrow books, read in there and the Playgroups, Read and Sing, Lego's and the other many activities that they are constantly organising for free are all great and the kids always ask me to go there all the time.
You can even hire the space for your own parties, gathering etc (although do not know the cost).
It is all run by volunteer which makes it even more remarkable and in the middle of a highly dense populated area is great to have such facility. This is a much better and more rewarding activity to do than just go to the playground. Thank you to the staff. See you soon

Brilliant place to meet up, really friendly staff and a real sense of community and lots of activities going on. The volunteers are fantastic as well.For a small library in the middle of a residential area it provides a lot more than meets the eye.
I know this will be changing to a community library in the Spring and I think this will only make it better than it already is. Well worth a visit especially when they open the eagerly anticipated coffee shop !

Love this library, although it is small it is easy to manoeuvre and find the books you want. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such helpful and friendly staff ready and willing to assist. I’m so glad that funding has been given for this local library

Really friendly, helpful staff, who were really tolerant of my toddler causing chaos as we completed the joining process. They even produced some toys for her. Although small, it has a good range of books, easy Internet access and a bargainous second hand shelf.

What's good?

* An absolutely excellent adaptable community space - it hosts many different clubs and groups
* A treasure trove of books, especially newer titles
* Some of the older volunteers are absolute sweethearts
* It offers film nights

What's bad?

*Maybe due to funding? There's no electronic catalogue nor the opportunity to search or review books
* Emails to the front desk/counter often bounce, opening times are scarce, and it's not that convenient
* The manager, Kim, is probably one of the rudest people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. She was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the community - a gong, I'm sure you'll agree, which needs renaming in these enlightened days?
*Compulsory autism/neurodiversity training is absolutely necessary for the manager and volunteer staff in this library. This will enable them to be able to address the modern world
* Five-star Google reviews written by people sharing the manager's surname surely aren't a particularly unbiased account of the library!?
