Market House

Went out for the day in Cambridge and found this little gem. They offer both British and asian cuisine. We opted for the British one and were pleasantly impressed. Felt like we were fine dining in a high end restaurant. We got the olives and scallops as starters along with good wine to pair with it. The olives were huge and had a spicy tingly flavour while the scallops were smothered in a rich buttery sauce that left us craving for some more. The waiter saw my partner constantly reaching for the remaining sauce, so he brought some bread to the table so he can enjoy it fully. Loved the waiter’s attentiveness. Then the main course came about. Amazing flavours both with the steak and the cod we ordered. Absolutely in love with the crispy truffle chips which paired delightfully with our mains.
Loved this place and would definitely recommend, although I must say it’s on the pricier side, once in a while it’s worth it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Cambridge! The location is very central. The view is super great. I love seafood and they have very fresh and high quality food. Highly recommended! Defo will visit again!

Amazing little restaurant overlooking the market!
The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant has a modern interior and well lit.
The food was amazing, I had their catch of the day which happened to be swordfish and it was cooked to perfection. My first time trying it but will definitely be keeping an eye out for it on other menus now. The desserts were fantastic, across the table we practically ordered at least one of each. The service did take slightly longer than expected but nothing that left us struggling for food.
There are a variety of drinks on the menu, plenty of nonalcoholic options too.
This place is quite pricey but that is to be expected, the food definitely lived up to the price!

Best lunch for a mile.

We came here for lunch and they looked after the moment we stepped in, it’s really stylish inside,

My son ( 2 years old) had chicken thighs and chips and it was a big portion for a kid and he had a lot of if, he enjoyed it all, the side salad not so good, but that’s kids for you, but it was nicely presented.

I had the haddock and chips, the batter was cooked to perfection even so I eat it all, the tartar sauce was to die for, freshly prepared and the crashed peas was perfect,

Now I can’t remember what the wife had but she said it was delicious and there was no evidence left on any of our plates 😂

Highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner.

The main restaurant is upstairs with views over the market square. We popped in for a cooked breakfast with great views and delicious food.

The restaurant was quiet on Saturday morning giving us a great table overlooking the market. We enjoyed a full English and Eggs Benedict. There were plenty of savoury, sweet and cooked options for veggies and carnivores.

The location is excellent, the food was fair value and the service was good. We shall return!

We had a wonderful evening at Market House. We’d been looking for a venue that could host a table of 16 and a lot of places in Cambridge either couldn’t host our party or had an extra charge for a suitable room. Market House offered us a private dining room at no extra cost and gave use an evening to remember. The food, drinks and venue were all great & the team really looked after us well.

Vegan option for a starter, main dish and dessert. Clearly marked and well cooked. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Was greeted by an older gentleman who was extremely polite and welcoming. I was served yesterday by a lady with an auburn pixie cut, who was so lovely. Today that same gentleman greeted me and I was served by a lovely handsome chap. Exquisite customer service. Extremely welcoming place, and for someone outside of the area, it was exactly what I needed. Thank you so much! 💖

Four of us came for dinner Aug 2023. Super friendly service, we were made to feel very welcome and the food was outstanding, my scallops were as good as I’ve ever eaten, I had catch of the day (sadly no photo) I was to excited about eating it and figured a plate of picked clean bones wouldn’t look that appealing. We don’t have many restaurants in Cambridge worth visiting but this one should be on your list.

Our experience at Market House was extraordinary! With 47 of us for a business meal, we were warmly greeted and treated to amazing food that surpassed expectations. The owner's attention to detail made our visit flawless. With such a large group, we interacted with the owner multiple times and every request was met with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to accommodate us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for our gathering, striking the ideal balance between elegant and inviting. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that every need was promptly taken care of. Overall, our visit to Market House was by far our best dining experience yet. We left feeling thoroughly impressed and satisfied, eager to return to this exceptional restaurant. One of the nicest places to eat in Cambridge!

Me and my partners family visited for the first time, to celebrate a birthday and absolutely loved it!

The staff are extremely welcoming and offer the highest level of service!

The food is exceptional, I cannot explain how delightful it is!

I’d highly recommend to any one who wants to go somewhere with nice vibes, great atmosphere, top-tier service and delicious food!

I can’t wait to come again!

I’ve visited Market House multiple times and cannot recommend it highly enough!

The food and service are always top-tier!

I’d highly and always recommend to anyone in Cambridge looking for a coffee and cake, lunch or a sophisticated dinner!

The service was outstanding, food was delicious, my friend has allergies and they couldnt have been more helpful!

Came on a horrible wet July (!) evening which may have accounted for it being quiet on a Friday. We had the asparagus and the terrine starters with cod and the catch of the day (perfectly cooked salmon) for main.
All was beautifully presented and tasty - great place for a quality meal out

My friends and I attended MH's Pol Roger Dinner, which was wonderful. The warm welcome, the glorious food, the delicious Pol Roger Champagnes and red wines chosen carefully to pair with each course. The portions were generous; the venison was perfectly cooked; the speeches were entertaining. We had a delightful evening. Thank you to Bill and team.

Attended the Pol Roger wine tasting dinner with my family. The food was exceptional and so were the paired wines. It was lovely to hear stories by James Simpson MW Pol Roger during the meal. A wonderful evening. Highly recommend.

The Restaurant has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The seating area is on the 2nd floor on a closed area. The staff were very friendly and offered the best products on the menu!

I highly recommend the Mango Mule mocktail! Very refreshing and goes very well with their Korean style Chicken and Kimchi!

As a main I had the Macaroni with St Helena cheese and I asked for it to have chicken instead of crayfish and it was amazing! Would recommend to anyone!! And I would definitely come here again!!

The Asian food in the wine bar was absolutely fantastic. Some of the nicest Asian food we had had in the UK in a lovely setting.

We went for dinner during Cambridge restaurant week and ate in the cellar part which is Market House Asia. The food was really tasty and very well prepared. I had the aubergine Bao bun and 3/4 people had the Korean fried chicken for main. Both were very tasty and would be back to try more as the menu has a lot of great choices. The cellar itself is lovely with nice vibes. Only shame was it was a Tuesday evening so a little quiet. Service was really nice.
