Would definitely stay again. Traveled for business. Beautiful 4 poster bed, large room, the most amazing deep bathtub, garden view. Really recommend.

Lovely place for a wake..

We chose The Crown House Hotel for a wake based on positive reviews and were impressed after an initial visit and chat.
Good communication throughout, flexible to our needs, a convenient location with spacious lounges and a cosy feel.
Buffet menu has a good choice, the quantity of food and drinks was just right and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced.

Based on our experience would recommend.

Set in beautiful Essex countryside. Bathroom and room were clean and spacious, ideal for families. Travel cot was available when requested on booking. Car parking good. Friendly and helpful staff make you feel welcome, thank you Chris. Excellent full english breakfast, taking care of food allergies, - thank you very much Jane.

Was a nice stay at the hotel.
Manager Kris was really polite and took us in on arrival. Rooms was good size for family of four (kids 1 & 5). Got a cod/travel bed on asking when booking.

Wife has celiac so had also a good full English breakfast the gluten free version.

Thank you to cook Jane for breakfast, it was lovely.

Would go back to this hotel.

The staff went out of their way to help us. We were attending a surprise 80th birthday party for my cousin. They arranged taxis to and from the hotel to the venue. The hotel was excellent. Very clean. We had a very nice room with a large bed and a very large walk in shower. Everything needed was thought of in advance. We also had a delicious breakfast - all local produce- for £10 per person. Excellent value. Very highly recommended.

Visited for the wedding of my sister and stayed overnight, everything from the room, service, food and venue was amazing but a big thank you to the staff, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond making sure the reception was amazing for all the guests. After an amazing night's sleep in a beautiful 4 poster bed we ended the celebrations with a 1st class breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wake here for my beloved mother. The people here were simply spectacular in how they let us decorate the room and how they provided delicious (especially the vegan options!) food and let us all just have a wonderful memory. I am so very grateful to you all. Really felt like you were part of the experience rather than just providing a service. My mother would have been so very happy! Thank you.

Great location, staff absolutely fabulous . Though now not doing evening meals, the village doe's have two very good pubs off which we chose the Plough and were not disappointed with either the quality of the food or the staff.
Breakfast was in the conservatory for us and consists of a buffet style with a good choice.
If travelling that way again would not hesitate in staying once more.

Super stay. In town for a wedding.
Staff covid prep was excellent rooms left empty 24 hours and cleaned so nno worries there. Staff let us into the rooms early so we could get ready. Beautiful patio area. Lovely breakfast lots of choice and cater for gluten free needs. We had a family room two adults and a 12 year old, loads of room and comfy. friendly . Would recommend.

Stayed here several times now. the building is beautiful, staff amazing who do their best to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The feeling here is that the staff actually care, it's like staying with a relative and homely. The breakfast range is great and any special requests are catered for when staff made aware. If you want a nice quiet pleasant retreat and customer care then this is the place you need to stay. Will definitely stay here every time I come to Cambridge. Thank you x

Perfect venue after my wife's funeral, you are assured of the success of your business! I have been to several receptions there, always impressed, very professional!!.

Lovely and very helpful staff, went above and behond to make our stay just what we needed. Quaint rooms with lovely views and well appointed. All clean and good quality bed. 2 local pubs with great beer and lovely food. I would definitely recommend.

Was a very pleasant experience. The building was very old and quaint, with plenty of character. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and were exceedingly polite and friendly. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

What a delightful hotel the Crown House is, I love the older charm of the room, feels homely the mattress was really comfortable as we're the pillows. The breakfast was superb with great quality ingredients and fantastic service, there is even an offer to cook eggs if the ones on the hot buffet don't look acceptable to you! They were perfect but the point is the hosts at the Crown House can not do enough for there guests.
A lovely lady greeted me with a warm smile and offered to help with my bags, she personally showed me to my room. Then another lovely lady walked with me through the garden dispite it being a horrible rainy dark night, just so she could show me how to get to the restaurant for my dinner.
I travel on business alot, and I can tell you this place beats the corporate hotels hands down.

A quaint traditional hotel. We were there for a funeral luncheon and the buffet served was exceptional. A delicious choice of well-filled sandwiches, savouries and home-made cakes. It is a pity that the hotel does not generally serve lunch.

With family in Great Chesterford I often go up for family get togethers. The rooms are a bit dated in decoration but are clean and a good size. Have stayed here a few times a year for about 10 years.

Thank you to the lovely lady who found me in my conference today to give me a Decaf coffee. She was on the phone when I left so couldn't thank her personally. The customer service was second to none. I would definitely recommend The Crown House. Thanks again
