Unexpected find on route to North Wales. Excellent Christmas atmosphere, very welcoming and warm roaring open fires finishrd off with lovely food and nice drinks, especially the Christmas in a glass Plum Pudding beer. It was just the perfect start to our long weekend break.

Stunning setting, even on a rainy day. We didn’t eat, just sat by the roaring fire playing pool and waiting for the skies to clear.

Well what can I say? Think I found a little gem just up the road. Took advantage of the two for one meals we both had steak and the little boy had curry and rice. Absolute bargain on the food was amazing! Absolutely no complaints. Will definitely be calling again. I might be calling this my new local. Beautiful looking pub with beautiful food

Lovely country pub, very cosy, food lovely, particularly enjoyed the home cooked chips. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. It is not a particularly big menu, but there is ample choice and to suit all requirements, nice selection of vegetarian/vegan food. The views across the river Dee to the Wirral are simply stunning and definitely enhance the dining experience. Highly recommended.

Amazing Sunday roast! Just before booking we noticed they were dog friendly and did a ‘doggy roast’ For £4.95! Yes, those are the doggy dinners - not ours 😂😍 really enjoyed the food and the pups definitely enjoyed theirs!

Amazing curry last night… chicken tikka was the best Iv had by far. Along with the steaks cooked to perfection.
The chips are just amazing also.
We look forward to coming back soon.

Lovely country pub. Ate some food here that was a reasonable price and excellent quality. Friendly place with a good range of drinks. Nice wood fire for the winter and a sun room for the summer.

Brilliant place. Seems to have been taken over recently with an intention of making it welcoming and classy. We enjoyed a Fish Friday deal which was fantastic food at a bargain price. They were also offering 20% off drinks too. I can't fault our experience which was a great alternative to a normal Friday evening.

Firstly Megan deserves a medal and a doubling of her wage. We visited Friday evening, she was not only serving the bar but also the restaurant and it was very busy!! service with a smile, kindness and everything you would hope for. When we're back in the area we will definitely be back again. Food was good value and tasty. Hubby adored the lambs liver!!
