King William IV Chigwell

Alan was an excellent server and face of King William 1V. He was informative and had great knowledge of the menu and wine list. We were a table of 4, I ordered the sea bass, and the rest of the group ordered the trio of roast. The food was delicious, desert however caused consternation on which cocktail to have with it. Please note when booking to ask if you wish to be seated near the bar at the front. Also, they have a time limit on tables of two hours.

We had a Zachary serve us today. His professionalism knowledge on Food and advice was spot-on. He’s a great asset To the King William IV. He really made my experience so comfortable. He was so friendly and polite. Honestly, I cannot praise him enough. He informed me of the new dish on the menu, for vegetarians like a steak which I’ve never tried before it was so nice. Truly enjoyed it. Zachary made our experience a really good one. Totally appreciate his patience while we were ordering and tried to pick the right dishes.

It was my boyfriend’s birthday and I spoke to Andrew, the manager about if they do anything for people on their birthdays? If I could possibly arrange something special for him that was quiet and discreet as he would be totally embarrassed if the happy birthday tune was being sung in the restaurant! I wasn’t even sure if they could do that. Thankfully it was something they could do! Shortly after finishing our mains, Andrew allowed me to pick a dessert (in secret) and “Happy Birthday” could be written on the plate. My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I was so happy for him. He has never experienced it before! Mya was also our waitress for the evening and delivered great service. The starter (sharing Camembert) and our mains (Pan roasted lamb rump and steak & malbec pie) was absolutely delicious too! 👌 Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

Attended the funeral wake of a dear friend. Wendy, Dave and the staff could not have been more helpful. Wendy had gone above and beyond in order to facilitate the smooth running of the day.
I cannot stress how kind and thoughtful Wendy was in the event planning, nor how helpful Dave and the staff were. The buffet food laid on was also first class.

I went with my family and had the Christmas turkey festive plus menu. They gave us a nice table which was not close to others. Alan was our waiter very attentive and made sure our drinks and food were delivered with good cheer. Raffle ticket#22. Had a lovely meal

Today I took my mum and Granddad to the King William for a Mother’s Day treat the food was amazing and he atmosphere was great live music and the waitress Orphee was so polite and friendly along with Wendy who made our visit extra special can’t thank them enough. In the words of my grandad “ the best meal so far of 2024”.

Lunch on Thurs 1st Feb 2024. Food on the set lunch menu was great. Our waiter Zachary was very courteous and attentive and worked so hard as the bar and restaurant were very busy with only 2 staff covering both areas. Thank you we will be back

Often come here for a peaceful beer and occasional food in the afternoons - Dave the bar man who’s always here is fantastic at customer relations and service never stops making sure everything is fine and comfortable plus always has good conversation a top fellow with customers at heart… Thanks to Dave making the King William again an inviting place to drink and eat 👍🏻

I Popped in for a quick lunch and was very surprised by the attention we received. Our waitress Orphee was fantastic and made sure we had a lovely experience. Many thanks to Orphee for making us feel so welcomed. We will definitely be back!

We came here as a family for the first time for my sister’s birthday and the food was unbelievably amazing and the best we enjoyed.

Most importantly our service from Zachary has been amazing and he went the extra mile for us and we had a great time chatting with him and gave us an unforgettable experience and thank you Zachary for your service and your kindness, huge praise to him always.

Will 100% will be coming back again cheers. 🥂

Visited last week for a ladies lunch, the 4 of us had a lovely meal, included, lamb rump, slow cooked pork belly, duck noodle salad, rotisserie chicken. We were greeted by friendly young man with glasses who sat us to our cosy table next to the lit burning fire. The manager came and made sure we were looked after, lovely gentleman -asked us if we needed extra drinks which makes a huge difference to having to keep asking for more drinks. Will be coming back again. Cosy clean pub, no long waiting times, even though the pub was very busy lunch service. Thanks!

Went here for some lunch yesterday. The food was great. We were served by Alen and he was friendly, approachable and made sure everything was OK with our meal.

Fantastic little place, the staff are warm and inviting, the eclectic art and decor top notch, the little twists on mundane recipes executed well, the food was delicious.

We had the roast which was superb. The drinks and wine list was very reasonably priced as was the food menu. I think it was Alan that served us (lost the bill so can't check), he was very helpful and attentive to our needs. Will defo come back.

Great food. Sadly had one change to pre booked meal, but was quickly sorted out by our waitress Annata (probably spelt incorrectly, my apologies). Annata was superb, attentive, chatty, professional and friendly. All in all it was a great boxing day experience. We weren't rushed, and ended up being there much longer than expected. Thank you all. 👏👏👏

Came out for a Sunday roast but the T-bone Special caught my eye instead was delicious!
Jo our server did a wonderful job.

Brilliant venue. Fitted a table of fifteen in at twenty four hours notice when our original booking had to close it's kitchen. Delicious food, pretty Christmasy room and superb service. Will visit again, highly recommended.

Our table was in a semi private area so that we could chat without annoying other visitors; our server Annetta was very friendly and helpful throughout our visit; the food was good!
