Fai's Noodle Bar

Went for a Friday evening dinner, I knew the food was great as I’d already had takeaway from here but it was my first time dining in. And to my surprise, the ambience of the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous! Quite cozy and aesthetically pleasing. I loved the decor and detail to art and lightings.

I would like to mention the quick and fine service of the staff. They seem very professional at what they are doing and yes, they know their stuff real good. A 10/10 experience with Fai’s.

Always use Fai's as a takeaway and sometimes dine in and have never been disappointed. Food tastes, nice, fresh and always hot. Highly recommended to all.

The only place I go, when wanting to eat Chinese in a restaurant. Staff are friendly and accommodating.. just had my partners 30th in there.. booked back in January for a party of 30.... no deposit was required which made it so easy... food did not disappoint.

Personally, I think the food is well cooked. The ingredients appear to be very fresh. The delivery has always been very prompt and the food hot. The menu is also quite extensive. I rate them very highly. I should ask for a retainer after this review. Seriously folks, well worth a try.

It was brilliant, staff was very friendly, had been served with a warm welcome. The food was delicious!! Been here for the first time and I will surely be visiting again soon! They have a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant was a busy place, however I stood by my patients and received my food in no time!! Would recommend this place!!

Absolutely love Fai's and try to visit whenever I am in the Colchester area. The staff are always very attentive but not pushy, the menu is varied and the chef is very accommodating if you need to make changes. The food is amazing, great quality and always as fresh as it can be. The crispy noodles are a revelation!

I cannot fault the service or the food here, it was excellent. The decor is good with big palm trees & a beautiful chinese style water feature with koi carp. It's spacious but has subtle lighting. The food was really fresh & superb (I highly recommend the fish) & the menu extensive with different choices to the normal basic Chinese restaurants. The service too is excellent, our waitress was happy to recommend dishes she thought we might like (we'd mentioned that we used to live in malaysia) I Highly recommend Fai's.

It was late, I was hungry and my regular place was full. I decided to try it after passing it by in the past because it was open and conveniently located close to St Botolphs Car park. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. It was clean and cosy. I took a recommendation and the food was fresh tasting, delicious and big portions, all reasonably priced. Staff totally fussed over me. I went back for more of course.

First time at Fails, as soon as we walked in the interior looked amazing. Staff friendly, really nice feel to the restaurant even though there was only a few of us in it. Food was delicious and served promptly. Will definitely come back again!

Probably one of the best local Chinese places in Essex! I have tried most of the local chinese restaurants and takeaways and Fai's has never let me down! Food is cooked to perfection, staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere and music is very authentic although the only down sides are the long walk to the toilet and the music could be a bit louder. Overall 9.5/10!

I used to live in Colchester and this was my favourite restaurant. I prefer Hongkong/Cantonese style cooking as it's more familiar to what i grew up eating back home.

I always order the same food and the waitress always know what I'm about to order. I always order hot and sour soup without meat, salt and pepper tofu, egg fried rice and chinese tea, all the time and i don't get sick of it.

If you order take away, it will be 10% cheaper than eating in the restaurant.

You can also have hot pot (cook your own food) although I've never tried it as i don't think it's worth it for a vegetarian. I've seen young university students having it at the next table and you can't help but notice the amount of fresh food for sizzling hot pot, which seems fun.
