We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful campsite with lovely hosts. Despite arriving an hour before check-in, the hosts were very welcoming and assisted us in finding a pitch with electricity, suitable for two families with small children, and conveniently close to the clean and well-maintained toilet block. Do remember to bring enough 50p coins for the showers. The campsite is open and elevated, so it can get windy; windbreaks and extra tent pegs are recommended. Campfires are allowed, and don't miss trying the delicious sausage bap from the onsite café. The overall atmosphere of the campsite is peaceful and family-friendly, with plenty of space for children to play safely. The surrounding scenery is stunning, providing beautiful views and great opportunities for walks and nature exploration.
Will be returning in the summer.

Fantastic camp site way off the beaten track. The views are fantastic and a trip up to the top, past the camp site is well worth a visit.

We stopped last night for one night and were the only folk there so had the whole site to ourselves.
Star gazers will love it here too. Near zero light pollution and a stunning view of the milky way is to be had.

The owner is a lovely chap, friendly and helpful.

If you use the shower make sure you put all clothing on the bench as it's a powerful shower. 👍 (Remember the 50p's)

All in all a cracking place to spend time away in the peace and quiet of Wales.

Chatted to a farmer up the top of the hill too, friendly bloke.

Pic was taken with my phone.

Lovely setting with views to the sea. The owner always seemed to be on site busy tidying up or doing something. The toilets and showers are nice and clean and they are nice powerful showers at just the right temperature. Got a little busy as it was the start of the bank holiday weekend but still very enjoyable

I had a lovely time here. The owners are very friendly with clear and prompt communication. I was arriving late (around 9pm) and that wasn’t a problem. They’re also often present on site during the day, which makes you feel like the place is well looked after. It’s family and dog friendly and is reasonably priced too.

The site feels calm and peaceful : with a gently sloping field with lovely views of the surrounding hills, the sea, and Bardsey Island.

The toilets/bathrooms were clean and pleasant. There were 3 toilets and 2 showers, but there was never a queue for them, even on the first few days when the site felt more busy. The washing up area was clean and pleasant but there were no laundry facilities that I could see.

I can’t comment on cafe or the wifi as I didn’t happen to try out either of these in my 5 night stay.

Phone signal for EE was patchy but I could usually get signal in my tent, and there were areas of the site that had really good reception - like up by the bathrooms, cafe and washing up area.

Overall, it’s good value for money in a lovely setting with positive interactions from the owners.

Great campsite, with amazing views!! Exactly what we wanted. The toilet/shower facilities were very clean and well looked after, we stayed for 7 nights and not once were they in any mess. The male & female facilities are seprate and there is also a family/disabled room as well, the shower takes 50p for 3 minutes (so make sure you take some with you) no change just 50p's, 3 minutes doesn't sound much but it was fine!! The washing area (for pots) was also kept clean and tidy and there is freezer for your ice packs (no food allowed).

There is a lovely 20 minute walk up a hill from the campsite (to the left) with amazing views, a perfect opportunity to watch the sunset 😍 there is also a longer walk, not sure how long as we chose to drive, the road leads from the campsite and winds up to the top of second hill another amazing opportunity to watch the sunset, from there there is also a coastal walk.

The campsite was nice and quiet at night and during the day, which was lovely. We had an electrical hook up so we were in a field with caravans and other tents, everyone really friendly!!

I'd like to say a big thank you to Bob the owner who was very accommodating, happy to help and very friendly.

There is a little village close by called Aberdaron, with local amenities and a lovely beach... really nice place.

I have to recommend the Whistling Sands beach, which is about a 15 minute drive from the campsite, and has a cafe & toilets on site.

We will definitely be returning to Mynydd Mawr Campsite and would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely awesome. Stopped for two nights and will definitely be headed back there again. Originally from Wales but now living in London, it was the perfect getaway. The couple that run the site are lovely, even their daughter was there on hand. Facilities are spotless including, washing area, toilets and showers. It always smelt fresh and clean. There is a small village a few minutes away in the car but really, everything you need is to hand as they have a great little cafe onsite. Thank you so much for a perfect break away from the city. Be back soon.

Amazing place. Campsite is a clean, basic and with lovely staff. There is some good food out of the cafe if you get bored of beans. The pitches are a good size with lots of room. Be wary of where to pitch on bottom field it can get blowy and the drive is loose gravel.

The little walks up the hill to see bardsey are fabulous. If you're more daring you can get close down to the sea. There is a nice coastal walk as well.

Went with family and just as a couple. Both times were great.

Delighted we came across this beautiful place while passing by, what a gorgeous set up. Stopped for a well needed cup of coffee from the cafe. Sat outside with breathtaking views of the sea, so peaceful. Was really impressed with the customer service, very professional, friendly and welcoming people. facilities were immaculate, very clean. Will be booking to stay next time, would highly reccomend!

Great campsite ran by a very kind Welsh couple.
Nice clean toilets with hot water and cleaning facilities.
50p to use the shower. Change is given in the cafe located on site.
Running water and electricity located at our very generous pitch.
Stunning views of Beardsley island.
It is rather exposed to wind so I would recommend strong pegs or seek a more shelters pitch.
I would stay again.

This isn't a camp site for those looking for on-site entertainment and kids' playgrounds. But it is perfect for those who want to pitch up in a choice of fields - with or without electricity, to enjoy a beautiful part of the world. Toilets and showers are spotlessly clean (remember to take 50p for the shower). The views are spectacular - but this is on a peninsula so expect lots of wind - the weather, not you.

Great place, nice clean facilities. Great views.

COVID-19 compliance could be improved, but it seems to be largely down to the attitudes of visitors. Could be improved with explicit policies about wearing masks in communal areas.

50p for showers is a good idea really, it ensures people are quick, but also provides ample time for a good shower (3 1/4 mins for 50p?). The showers are nice too.

Our family have been annual visitors to this site for almost 20 years, and Robert and Carol, the site owners, could not be any more accommodating and welcoming.
The site is spotless, the shower/toilet block is always well-stocked and exceptionally clean; the family-run cafe does fabulous breakfast, drinks, cakes and scones; and the views from the campsite are spectacular. There are very few sites like this in the UK, and we will continue to camp at Mynydd Mawr for the rest of our lives, as will many families and couples who have been lucky enough to stumble across this beautiful campsite.

Lovely campsite, we were not bothered and left to it and the owner didn't even blink with 6 kids and 5 large dogs in tow, no lead rules just a simple pick up and under control request- any dog owners dream!
Site is clean and has good basic camping facilities. Lots of beautiful views and beaches. If we ever come up that way again we will be sure to book. Thanks

Ideal peaceful place, great for walkers who want to follow the coastal path which is breathtaking, site facilities are excellent toilet and shower block always spotless, and a great little on site cafe, breakfasts are superb as well as other snacks during the day. Mynydd Mawr is family run and the owners Robert and Carol couldn't be anymore helpful, excellent. Always enjoy our stay here.

Great little campsite with stunning views, super relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We stayed another night to take advantage of the good weather and it was no issue for the owners. We’ll definitely return again 😊
