Had a family birthday meal (8 of us) here in April, food was really good, locally sourced meat etc and spot on, (minted lamb burger from butchers in Bala was excellent).
Lovely setting watching the steam train run on the side of the mountain.
Loads of outdoor seating so will look forward to going back on a sunnier day.
Staff were very friendly and I highly recommend but may need to phone & reserve as I think its quite popular owing to reasonable price and good quality food.

Just had an evening meal here whilst staying in the area and were very pleased we did! The location is superb and there are stunning views across the mountains from the restaurant. There was a great choice of meals, portions were good sized and the cheesecake we ordered was the biggest I've ever seen! Service was also efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Me and my mum came for a Sunday dinner over the Easter break and once again, the service and food was exceptional. I was going to opt for the carvery but was too tempted by the pie that was on the menu. Good was delicious & the waitress was super friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Photo attached of the pie - would recommend!

Absolutely beautiful meal there. Possibly the best burger I've ever had. The staff are lovely as well. They couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for such an amazing meal. Will definitely be back, and will hopefully get to experience the hotel next time.

Lovely pub bed and breakfast. The food was great. Breakfast was fresh and hot when it arrived. Staff are very helpful and friendly .
Furniture may be upgraded in the bedroom and a mattress topper needed as could feel springs and lumps.

Wanted to take the Mrs away for the night for a break away. Booked a last minute cottage at the grapes restaurant and hotel and couldn't fault it at all. All staff was very pleasant. Food was excellent, overal great value for money and the landscape was right for us. If you appreciate the out doors then this is for you. One of many we shall be returning., Thanks again katrin for the hospitality

Stopped for lunch travelling to North Wales so can only really comment on this element. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was very good and well priced. We ate in the bar area as we had two dogs with us so can only comment on that area, it was welcoming with a good atmosphere and clean. As a note side of the carpark a very well equipped play area for children

Had a two night stop here in Maentwrog (still no idea how to pronounce it🤔). Everything suited us, the warm welcome, accomodation, food, staff and Welsh beer! Its a very busy spot and deservedly so in my opinion. Thank you Grapes hotel

Not staying at the hotel, but dropped in here for a quick drink after a day out, and was pleased to see that it is still holding to the traditional values of what a proper pub used to be. Drinks and service were excellent so we decided to go back for lunch the following day. We had the steak, onion and mushroom ciabatta with a side of chips, and our guests had the combo platter and the smothered chicken. All meals arrived together and piping hot. The food was absolutely delicious and service to match. We will definitely be back in November and may venture the legendary ribs. Would highly recommend here for food and drinks when in the area.

Book a small cottage for two days to go caving, unfortunately in the middle of storm Gerrit, but you can't control the weather. The stay was wonderful, luckily there was free WiFi and a smart tv, both up stairs and downstairs. There was a kettle and complementary tea, coffee and biscuits and the staff will quite happily top them up if needed. Service was great, make sure you book breakfast and any meals for the evening as it's a busy place and I can see why. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Absolutely no hesitation in giving The Grapes 5 stars. We've been in the area on holiday as a family and had largely given up on finding a pub serving good food. Then we found The Grapes.

It was a completely different experience to the nearby Oakley Arms which I gave a (frankly very generous) 2 stars to. The Grapes is several levels above.

We booked on the day and were lucky to get a table for 6 in the bar area rather than the restaurant (as we had dogs with us) so definitely book early. The atmosphere was great. Incredibly friendly with very nice beers and wine.

The food though was something else. I had the salmon steak with new potatoes and vegetables with a divine sauce. My father ordered the ribs but as they were out, he had the liver, to which he commented that he was glad they were out of the ribs given how delicious the liver was.

My kids had great burgers (from the adult menu). We shared 3 desserts and 3 of us had 3 alcoholic drinks with soft drinks for the rest. Ask that for £155? It was the best value, best tasting food we've had all holiday in the best and friendliest pub in the area.

Whatever you do, make a point of visiting The Grapes.

We were not booked in for accommodation, but called in on the off chance for food in the evening. Great service and friendly staff who looked after us well despite being busy. Really good choice of menu options and a curry of the night to choose from.
It was so good we booked for the following night!!
