(Did not use hotel - went for food & drinks only). Fantastic service from both staff members, very good steak and chips (not sure what shape they were but never seen them before! Really delicious!). Great atmosphere (although quiet) and really tastefully decorated restaurant - strong autumnal vibes. Lemon cheesecake was excellent! Highly recommend!

Excellent place for staying and eating. I searched for an affordable hotel around the Portmeirion and Y Griffin was the best for a wedding anniversary staycation 🥰 Recently refurbished, clean rooms with very comfortable mattress and cushions. Optimal room temperature. Experienced staff helped with choosing the meals and drinks 🍹
And on the top of all, they have a play room for adults with pool table and jukebox 🤩

We ate here - lunch on a Saturday. I was just expecting run of the mill pub grub, but the quality of the food we got was exceptional. It was tradition pub food but cool very very well. The service was excellent and staff helpful and friendly. The star of the show was definitely the chips, they were cut into a ‘U’ shape which ensured they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside without compromise. Outstanding! We will definitely be back!

Called in for a pint. The young bar man Leon served us. We had a good conversation about the area and him living up the street. It was nice to see local people supporting local businesses. He did teach how to say the town name. Needless to say, we had a laugh. The bar areas are well maintained and clean. A very pleasant place.

I would highly recommend a stay at Y Griffin if you’re in Snowdonia. We had an unexpected stay here and can’t say enough positive things. On a hiking trip, we stopped in Penrhyndeudraeth for drinks and dinner. We had a wonderful time at the bar, the atmosphere was very welcoming and there was live music and a pool table. We had planned to stay in a different spot an hour away, but were hoping to come back for more hiking the next day. At the last minute, we decided to see if there were any rooms available. The owner was able to accommodate us and we were so pleased with the quality of the room. It was beautifully renovated, very clean and welcoming. All of the staff were very helpful and kind, the live music was fantastic, the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. We were so lucky to find this spot, and you should definitely stay here or just stop in for a bite. We also loved experiencing Welsh culture and beautiful Snowdonia, and Y Griffin was absolutely a great place to do that.

Unbelievably good standard of accommodation, fitted out to a high standard, great staff, very friendly. There was no chef working so had to go to cafe over road for breakfast, which was totally amazing cafe with the best staff and the best cooked breakfast and fresh filter coffee. Great spot!!

I did know what expect from a hotel in a pub but it turned out to be a better experience than I though. Staff where always smiling and extremely friendly. In the evening on way in the pub always had a lively warm atmosphere which would be great for a drink and some pub food before going up to your room for sleep. As you can see from the pictures the room was very homely and tidy. Everything worked including the very nice shower. From my room you could see the town centre and the bay with the mountains behind and that was lovely. I paid £50 a night with 5.5 cash back through booking.com through moneybox. Which turns out £94.50 for the two nights I stayed which is resumable. It also helps out a local pub and the Hart of a community which I like. Must stay if wanting this are as good prices, location and hotel. Would stay again especially if with someone as pub is good vunue to share drinks.

Had Sunday Lunch here last week - end , the place was spotlessly clean with pleasant staff and the food was absolutely lovely. I wish the new owners all the best and may they go from strength to strength.
