The most stunning place I've ever had lunch at: right on the river. Surrounded by ducks and geese. Lovely food, as well. I had the gnocchi while my partner had the fish and chips. Both were great! I'm not surprised the place was packed even on a Wednesday afternoon. It's just that good!

We went to celebrate a birthday for an evening meal and it was lovely in every way.

The location was great with the Test river running beside a big and stand out pub that was buzzing with people and yet it was a great service with attentive and friendly staff.

The menu was good and the food was presented beautifully and tasted great. Gluten free options available.

We were recommended to eat here by the Airbnb host.He wasn’t wrong what a great pub from the decor to the food it was amazing. We were shown to the table we ordered our drinks and they came straight away. My partner wanted the crispy pork, the waitress asked if she minded it being spicy as it’s has quite a lotof chillies in it. I don’t think I’ve been to a place where this has happened most places would just let you ordered..she changed it to the chicken risotto and I had the steak and ale pie. The price was about average for both. We both love the food , both very good quality especially the pie. The pastry was exceptionally crispy and lots of meat. I could not fault any part from the mash to the cabbage. I would recommend a visit to this quirky pub

An absolute gem of a pub when the sun is shining. There really isn't many places where you can get such an incredible view of the River Test whilst enjoying a G&T or two!

The prices for drinks are fairly standard, and their drinks list has a lot of options, so you won't struggle to find something to drink.

I can't comment on the food but the menu sounded good, so I will likely be back to try some food sometime soon!

What a wonderful place! We had a walk in the nature reserve nearby then we had the most delicious meal in an idyllic setting at a reasonable price and were served by friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be back.

Went for a sunday roast with my friend after golf today. Turned up on the off chance we could get a table for 2. Got us seated straight away. Great service and food was amazing. Best roast dinner i have had in a long time.

Went to this pub 2 days in a row while we were staying locally, it was that good. We were warmly welcomed back by the staff on our second visit. Speaking of the staff - they are incredibly attentive and efficient, even when the pub is packed and every table is taken, they are friendly and polite whilst getting the job done. The food is marvelous, empty plates all round, without a single complaint. I highly recommend this pub. Also, it's a lovely setting in the warmer months, being right on the river.

Really nice pub next to the river test. Fantastic location with some fabulous walks around. Lots of nearby history. The restaurant pub is spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with brilliant views of the river. Nice variety of drinks and food. The food itself was excellent. A really pleasant place to come to and soak in the marvellous Hampshire countryside.

Such A beautiful place to have lunch, The staff are amazing even though they were swept off their feet they still have time to give the most amazing service, I had three courses with three drinks and the bill only came to £45 with service charged.

Food and staff very good. Though the staff themselves were excellent, they seemed quite overworked and we were forgotten about at times.

What a fantastic place with excellent food.

We’re not from the area originally, so choosing where to eat can be a gamble.

Having driven out, as soon as you get there, it’s a really lovely building and location.

Sat outside next to the river is awesome. 10/10 for location.

Beautiful pub sat right on the banks of the test river.

Saw a muntjac deer eating across the river from us while we sat and had a lovely lunch and a pint.

Stopped for lunch on a rainy afternoon. Location is stunning. The Test river flows by fast and full of Trout !
Food is tasty, drinks are good with loads of choice, a tad pricey but worth the whole experience. We had 3 drinks, 2 course meal and 1 main course for £56.00.

Great ambience, the pub is right next to the river with lots of trout to be seen. Its a lovely place to have a calming evening after a days walking around the John Lewis partnership water gardens and farm shop. The service is impeccable and the staff are very attentive to the customers needs.
