The Old Gaolhouse - JD Wetherspoon

The Old Gaolhouse is a gem in the heart of the city, offering a fantastic blend of cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and top-notch food and drinks at affordable rates. I highly recommend giving it a visit!

First time at this wetherspoons, very large so had no issues with seating. Food and drink was served quickly and staff were friendly.

Had an early breakfast, so it was quiet. But it was very clean (staff visibly cleaning), food was good and staff very friendly.

It's a really good-sized pub with lots of seating. There's the normal great menu with something for everyone with lots of options for vegetarians and vegans.
Our food came out really quickly and was piping hot. Staff were all really friendly and helpful.

Visited during peak hours, so surprised by the lack of waiting for the food, everything was fresh and to quality. Not too busy and felt very safe here. Best Spoons I've been to across the country, well done team, highly recommend!!

We called in here Saturday morning for breakfast. Usual Wetherspoons fair - good value, unpretentious. Service very pleasant and welcoming.

This is another pub from the Wetherspoon chain. It's nice and clean and stuff is quite friendly too. There are not many options in town for some drinks and you'll definitely find some cool people here looking for some cheap drinks, food and alcohol.

Great service and well cooked food at very reasonable prices.

Another lovely spoons a short walk from the station (slightly downhill) with a small outdoor seating area out the front. The staff were lovely and chatty amongst themselves as well as with the punters. Staff were constantly walking around clearing away tables before cleaning them. The breakfast was usual great value and as I got there just before noon thought I would have a Guinness- which, you guessed it, was excellent. Oh, and the toilets are on the ground floor.

We went for a few drinks before going out for dinner, all staff were polite and friendly. The bar and seating area could do with a freshen up as it’s looking tired, would recommend as the pub did have a nice atmosphere.

The place was very busy, but got a table ok. Waited about 15 minutes from ordering on line to eating. Very good service!

Service was quick. Staff friendly and definitely worth a visit.

Cheap beer and food...that's why you go there and it is popular.

Good Wetherspoons fare ! Can't beat an afternoon meal deal on a Friday with fish & chips and a pint of Leffe for a tenner !

Staff are very friendly and helpful when ordering. Food is well priced and delivered quickly. Beers are changed frequently with good choice and less than half the price of other Winchester pubs. Toilets are clean.

Good deal for breakfast with endless coffee. My lovely wife eats small portions and can't eat gluten. So half a breakfast of hash browns, bacon, egg and a few beans, were great for her.

We came here for lunch and again later in the day for drinks before getting the train home.
I ordered a pizza from the Christmas menu and it was lovely, our groups good all came out within a reasonable time considering how busy they were. The staff were helpful and everything was delicious.

Although it was packed, the atmosphere of the place was really good with most people seeming to be in good spirits.

Went there for a Christmas breakfast with 4 mates. Service was bang on, particularly the bar staff and it had a lovely friendly feel about the place. Great work.
