We loved our stay at the Wykeham Arms Pub hotel. While the third floor room might have been stuffy, the window let in fresh air and the bathroom was spacious and light. The pub is amazing for its ambiance and food. The atmosphere draws both locals and guests and we chose to eat there twice because the food was so delicious. Staff are extremely helpful and kind. We had a wonderful visit while we were there and highly recommend eating at the pub and visiting the amazing Winchester Cathedral, as well as fishing in the local Chalk Streams on the River Test if possible. What a beautiful place!

Lovely pub in a fantastic location, great range of cask ales and simply the best haddock and chips and sticky toffee pudding we’ve ever had! Excellent value if ordering before 7pm as part of the meal deal and highly recommended.

A lovely old pub with very helpful and smiling staff. The photos are of Hamilton room. What isn't shown is a beautiful modern shower room with a superb shower with great water pressure. Although it was a pub with a restaurant the rooms were quiet and comfortable. The food was good quality and overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Great food and service. What can I say, you will not be disappointed. This place was awesome, when I'm next in Winchester, I'm definitely stopping off here for my food and beer. I can't recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed, and you will surely return.

This is a fantastic pub that I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area. I’ve had lunch, dinner, and breakfast at the Wykeham Arms and wish I could find an establishment like this one nearer to where we live. The food and wine list is excellent and the service is very good as well. The room we stayed in was larger than expected and filled with character as are the pub dining rooms. For lunch I enjoyed the fish and chips, and on a different visit had the crab and mussels fettuccine. Lunch and dinner menu do vary somewhat, and children are not allowed in the pub after 5pm (I think).
The pub is a great place to stay - easy short walk through Kingsgate to the Cathedral and the shops.

I've been to this pub a few times now. The food has been excellent, particularly the cheese board. The staff were friendly and polite. Our children and dogs were welcomed. A friendly place that I'd definitely reccomend.

We only attended this place for a short period of time, mainly because we wanted to go somewhere new and in close proximity to The Cathedral.

The atmosphere is quite unique, as I have evidenced in the photographs. This is a place to which we shall definitely return.

I booked a table online for Mother’s Day which was very simple to do.

The service was excellent all round and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food was excellent and bountiful and as a bonus my mother received a special Mothers Day gift bag from the staff.

I have been to the Wyndham Arms three times before and I will be visiting again soon and I also recommend it to friends and family.

Thank you to the staff for making our afternoon a special experience.

Stayed here 20 years ago, dropped in for a drink recently and still has a great atmosphere. More of what used to be pub has been turned over to restaurant, but otherwise feels much the same.

Wow! It feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The food and beer were good, but the ambience was beyond. Stop in for a drink, or just to see their collection of walking sticks attached to the ceiling.

Called in for a liquid lunch but saw the sunday roasts coming out and had to get one. Not the cheapest but definitely worth every penny, amazing food, great service and dog friendly in a very traditional pub with a roaring log fire, would 100% recommend and come back again

Enjoyed my stay of 10 nights in their Garden Suite. Quaint and cozy room. It had a huge bathroom with slipper tub and separate shower. The double bed was upstairs, small however very comfortable. The Garden Suite is actually across the corner from Wykeham Arms pub, ,and behind it is Jane Austen's house.
I loved the fact that is was tucked in back of a great and fully stocked Deli. It was so quiet at night that I could only hear birds chirping in the garden behind it. Outstanding food in the pub (Delicious Sunday Roast!). Housekeeping was great! Great location! The only comment for improvement would be the mini fridge was on the wall and didn't hold very much except drinks and maybe a small yogurt. However all in all great place to stay and affordable. Downside, I just happen to pick the hottest 10 days EVER in Winchester. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.

It's a bit hard to find if you don’t know the way, but that also gives it a feeling of being a hidden treasure sort of pub.

This is moreover true once you walk in and see the history covering the walls, i saw various artefacts covering the walls alongside Admiral Lord Nelson, Churchill, King George 6th, and a few faces i recognised but could not name.

Visited with friends for the Flavours of Autumn Tasting Menu. The restaurant was very clean and tidy, the log fire made it feel cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food . . . Was absolutely PHENOMENAL! From the taste to the presentation, everything about it was just outstanding. The timings between each dish was just right and we were always told what each dish was. A variety of all different flavours and it was cooked to perfection! A very enjoyable experience and looking forward to visiting again. Well done Chef!

Fantastic pub for lunch, really nice old building with a cosy pub atmosphere. Great food too.
The burger doesn't come with any salad or veg, so you might want to get the broccoli as a side if ordering that.

One of the best pubs in Winchester - if not the best! The pub has amazing character and really transports you back in time a bit to a good old fashioned pub, best Guiness in Winchester also, very friendly and helpful staff. Will hopefully be back when I return from holidays. Never eaten there but the dining areas are always fully booked and I look forward to trying it soon.
