Have been to Oakley Arms several times whilst staying in Maentwrog and Criccieth.
On all occasions we have only ventured in for food, which has always been lovely.
Tonight, 5 of us had a meal in this awesome pub...and the food was superb.
The interior has been redecorated since last visit and the place is a lot busier. Well done, and thank you, to everyone at The Oakley.

This was the second time this year that we have stopped for a meal whilst travelling through the area, and both times have proved it was a good choice. The food was excellent and plentiful, the service was great and very friendly. Also, it is a dog friendly venue which for us was a bonus. Thank you. It is highly recommended.

Service was great, lovely friendly staff. The food was great I had Thai fishcake, BBQ chicken melt, both were lovely but my eyes were bigger than my belly!! My mum and partner really enjoyed there food too, so all in all lovely food, they fitted us in an hour after we called. Beautiful surroundings, I really liked this place 😊

Called in for a meal and was happy we could bring the dog along (bowl and water provided)! Beautiful warm evening, so we sat outside. Lovely children's play area too. Meals were fabulous (husbands gammon "one of the best he's ever had"). Service was excellent; staff friendly and helpful. What a lovely place.

What a treat to stay in this historic building. Service was great and food was very good. Hosts are lovely people. When I return to Wales, and I will, I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing pub with incredible views, rich history and attentive service. Stayed for 2 nights with a large group.

Food was brilliant in the evening and so was the breakfast.

Landlord and all staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Thanks for all the whiskey, coffee and that unforgettable special Welsh tin experience!

We stopped for a meal here. We had the Dragon burger and the full rack of ribs. Huge portions of excellent food served with good ale. To top it all, the staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Word of advice if you're going for the ribs; bring something to take home the half you won't be able to eat!

Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink while I was staying locally. Staff were polite and professional and the food quality was lovely.

Had the Welsh burger which came through fast and hot. I plan on staying in the area again for my work trips so will certainly return.

P.s. what a beautiful location. The views locally are second to none

One of my absolute favorite stays in the UK! Staff was incredibly hospitable, the rooms were clean and furnished with beautiful antique furniture, and the food and drink were delightful. Fantastic location at an excellent value!

This is a great place to stop when in the North Wales area. We just called in to see if they had any vacancies due to being let down by another hotel.

The owner of the Oakeley could not do enough in making my family and I very welcome. When they said it would be a family room they were not wrong, it has a king size bed and two singles (Not a sofa bed) The staff of the Oakeley are very helpful and friendly so if it's the first time in the area the staff are very knowledgeable about local attractions.

If you are thinking of eating at the Oakeley you will not be disappointed they are value for money. Would I go again???? No hesitation I would go again tomorrow, in fact we are thinking of going again in September this year.

If you are a family who have a dog then you can stay in one of there lodges at the rear of the hotel

Believe the hype, best roast in the game. If you’re in this area on a Sunday afternoon, you’d be a fool not to pop in and enjoy a roast. Succulent meat, fluffy roasts, flavoursome veg, an abundance of food. Was actually cheap as well, on £12.99 for the grub. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Can’t speak highly enough of this place

We stopped on the way up to North Wales on Friday and had excellent meals. It was also dog friendly in certain areas so perfect for us. It was so good that we stopped for the carvery on the way home today and that was just amazing! Will definitely return.

Stayed and ate here and enjoyed it very much. Everyone who worked there was friendly and cheerful, my partner particularly enjoyed how they would speak Welsh first before speaking English. Made us feel like we were well and truly in Wales.

Room was huge, bathroom also huge and it was clean and well maintained. Very pleased with the room.

Dinner and breakfast were great, portion sizes as generous as the room, well prepared and tasty. Less than 15 minutes from Portmeirion so you can get there bright and early to avoid the crowds.

Thank you Oakeley Arms, I’d happily stay again.

We ate here for dinner after a long day hiking Snowdon. Lots to choose from on the menu with all the great pub classics. We had the steak and ale pie and minted lamb burger, both tasted great. Great portion sizes. The staff were so friendly. Would come back again when in North Wales.
