Stayed in the main house (self-catering) with my kids (6 & 1) for a week in August & had the best time! House and gardens were perfect. A lovely location, close to a little town, beautiful walking trails & plenty of beaches & family attractions (if you have a car). John & Ceilia were really lovely, helpful hosts, very accommodating & knowledgeable about the local area.

What a fantastic place. The house is lovely and the garden is fantastic, lots of places to sit and relax. Our room was great, very comfortable and everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely all locally sourced and freshly made. John and Celia were lovely hosts and made us feel really welcome. The surrounding area is lovely with lots of walks, forests, mountains, beaches and all of the cool stuff going on at 'Go Below' and the various 'Zipworld' activities. The whole experience is fantastic and the icing on the cake its all environmently friendly which is just great.

The owners were absolutely brilliant when I needed to charge my EV. Fantastic accommodation I wish we would have booked and a place to charge the car, next time we will stay here.

This was a lovely place to stay. The setting is perfect - great for walking and surprisingly well-connected by public transport. There's also lots to do nearby on rainy days too. We stayed for a long weekend but could easily have occupied a week.
The B&B itself was clean, cosy and welcoming. We really appreciated the owners' attention to detail, from the freshly baked bread in the mornings, to the fire lit for us after a long day of walking in the rain, to - and this was really going above and beyond - putting newspaper in our soaking wet walking boots so they were that bit drier the next day. It was like a home away from home.

A brilliant Eco Guest House and now carbon negative !
It’s the only place to go if you want to be in an amongst the beautiful Snowdonia/Eryri mountains of Wales.
A great place to also charge your electric car with friendly owners doing what they can to make your day as smooth as possible.

I had a wonderful stay at Bryn Elltyd over the bank holiday weekend. It’s a lovely guesthouse in an incredible location (beautiful, quiet and lots to do) and John & Celia have great local knowledge so you can really make the most of it. Brekkie was excellent, the rooms are very comfortable and as an added bonus, they’re carbon neutral! All in all, definitely worth a visit. PS: Thanks for the Easter eggs! :-)

Fabulous place!! Attended as a weekend getaway with my family (4x adults, 1 baby & 1 dog) and was lovely! Lots of really nice walks and the hosts are really welcoming.
Room was lovely, had a room in the main house with an en-suit and really nice firm bed. Real plus is this place is pet friendly, absolutely 5* from me

Had an amazing stay here for 3 nights. Fantastic hosts who are knowledgable about the area, mountaineering and anything to do with living as carbon neutral as possible. Thoroughly interesting and inspirational. The area is utterly gorgeous too - I went in autumn so the trees were golden and orange in the valleys. The homemade bread was beautiful too. Thanks John and Celia.

John & Celia were gracious hosts,
As tourists they are prepared to spend time not only explaining all the different things available to do in the area, but how and when to visit.
As the property owners and converters of this amazing venue you would never know from the outside how many prestigious awards they have won, competing and winning against multi million pound hotels for their amazing use of ecological means to run the place.
If you are someone who likes an interesting conversation, appreciates the individual, and feels relieved that you can see in action steps that will reduce carbon foot print,. Then come and spend your money here. They even make amazing homemade warm bread for breakfast!

RECOMMENDED! I last stayed in 2009 and it is as good now as it was then. The location is perfect and means you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being away from town yet close enough for convenience. Plenty of local walks, close to nature and some stunning views, the local history, and cafe and only a short walk to one of the Ffestiniog rail stations. The B&B is litterally right in front of the reservoir lake which is used by the local hydro power station. The food and accommodation is great and you will get well looked after.

I love this place. It's a wonderful place to camp out with great friends and explore a bit of Wales. The guest living room and dining room provide a place to chat/play games in the evening.
It's very welcoming and although it's a great place to get away and relax. It's no distance from Snowdon, Betwys Coed so plenty of exploring available.

Magical experience!
Cozy, charming place, eco-friendly, surrounded by flower gardens, a stream, picnic tables on the hill overlooking all this beauty: waterfalls, nature! Authentic experience of nature and living together with nature. Hosts are super friendly! Walking and hiking trails right at your reach! We had the most amazing 4 days there, relaxing, beautiful, fresh and a great get away from the city. Impressive house with electric chargers, solar roofs, etc. There is a fun breakfast restaurant/cafe 3 minutes walk! Great villages to reach and attractions area also nearby. Couldn't recommend more! My husband and I stayed in the Hobbit House :) Very charming and cute.

We only walked past it, but we were so impressed by how beautiful the garden was - eco friendly moss roofs, solar panels and the house looked so beautiful, EV chargers... already planning an actual stay!
