Absolutely lovely ! We are on holiday only 2 mins away from here and we are so glad we found this chippy. We have been to others around the area and not as nice as this one. They do skinless fish too (the best)

Beef dripping just makes it more fantastic.

Outstanding food outstanding service

Honestly was told to go here by a few and with many in town I was unsure but walking into a random but again was told a 4th time this was the place

Pre order mostly only which just shows its pure quality over quantity

The size of the flakes of the Cod it’s honestly the best fish and chips we have had

Incredibly reasonable price ! Bring cash help out !

Will be returning definitely !

We ordered ahead of time and even had a choice of what was fresh on the day. We were met with friendly staff and our food was ready exactly on time. Amazing quality and taste. They have vegetarian options too and the halloumi is recommended!

A definate 5 star from this Google Guide
Top rated locally this was worth a visit.

Pricewise.. competitive for the area £8 for fish and chips.. Friday and saturday ring up or expect a wait! You will be given a time slot to pick up your food.

Ibordeted the traditional fish and chips as i was at the seaside..

The batter of the fish was lightly done giving that lovely golden glow. The fish itself cooked to perfection. Not dry, that slightly moist soft melt in your mouth taste. The chips ,a good sized portion, again cooked well, soft, not too greasy and a great taste.

Tucked up a far end of a side road this would be easy to miss but not hidden enough that the locals love it and I can see why

.This definately deserves a place up there as an excellent and much reccomended chippie ,5* Top marks.. well done Ryan

Best fish and chips in Caister by miles, wins hands down, top quality fresh fish, plenty of it, always served with a smile (and a laugh or two!), and even a lovely beach with table/benches yards away to eat it all on! Worth asking Ryan for a few scraps too I say!!

First off, the cod i had was amazing, flakey and juicy. The atmosphere was enjoyable, had a good laugh. Service was quick and easy, and the kind lad alfie who served my food should deserve a raise. Keep up the good work

First time visiting Ryan's, came here because of recommendations from friends. I am so glad that we did. Such lovely friendly service. We had 2 portions of Haddock & Chips. Very good value! The Chips were cooked to perfection & the fish was amazing! Nice light batter, absolutely no grease! I can't wait to visit again next time I am in Caister! Can't recommend them highly enough!

We have have been visiting this place for more the 30 years from when the original owner had it and has always been excellent but when Ryan took over become even better we travel often from Essex and travel the 200 mile around trip in a day to eat here, the food is always exceptional, Ryan and his team are a well oiled set up especially on busy days like Good Friday our latest visit, food cooked to order, fresh and hot, fish cooked to perfection, chips superb and the curry sauce is addictive we are obsessed with this place, always the best.

On holiday in the area and decided we wanted fish and chips. Googled what was around and came across Ryan's. What a little gem of a fish and chip shop! 2 adults and 2 kids had very filling meals (£23 for all). Everything is cooked fresh to order. Chips beautiful, I didn't want to eat my battered sausage because I didn't want to finish it! My husband and daughter reported the cod was stunning! Glorious light batter, nothing was greasy. Really delicious! Highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Fantastic Fish and Chips,
A must goto if you are in the area. Make sure to call ahead on Fri/Sat as shop closes by 20:00.. Don't leave it too late to call ahead.

Staff are really friendly and engaging with customers, and it's local community.

For my fellow Londoners visiting this fish and chip shop make sure to ask about the "Mid Cod" and don't just ask for "Cod and Chips"

Had cod/chips twice and a couple of sausages as well as kids fish bites.

Pro:
Excellent flavour and piping hot.
All cooked freshly and yet service was quick.
Fish bites portion was ample for child (if anything too much food!).
Good to see options for fish, including whitebait and rock.

Con:
More than average for the area in terms of cost. Above was £29.
Signage in the shop asking people to ideally pay by cash to allow avoidance of card fees. Part of business now isn't it?

Overall, 5 stars. Would 100% eat from here again as fish was delicious and great to see a good old fashioned British fish 'n' chip shop still thriving, as the towns are full of kebab shops.

I can honestly say these were the best fish and chips I have EVER had.
We arrived without pre ordering but the staff were fantastic and even though they were very busy they made our order. The food was stunning and I cannot recommend this fish and chip enough.

Lovely tucked away fish and chip shop. Down on holiday and rode past whilst visiting Caister lifeboat station. Returned for tea. Although we hadn’t preordered the wait wasn’t long, considering all items were freshly cooked to our order. Definitely recommend just make sure if it is Friday or Saturday you need to preorder. Staff were friendly and efficient considering the orders which were coming in.

Everything was fresh and cooked to a high quality. Ryan even offered to remove the skin from the child's portion of fish before cooking it, never had any chippy offered that. Curry sauce was the proper think and lumpy stuff and not that runny drizzle most places do. Staff was very welcoming and good to see them smiling and enjoying their trade. Will come again when next in the area for sure!

I visited the nearby Caister Car collection which has an excellent tea room but doesn't do lunch so I looked on maps and saw this was very close to the beach car park in Caister and looked like just what I wanted. I'm pleased to say it was every bit as good as I hoped. Excellent fish and chips served by friendly staff.
