Although Tessa Bramley has been Chef Patron at The Old Vicarage for over thirty years, my relationship goes back even further, in fact another decade, so there’s a long history of fine dining, and I can honestly say things only get better.

Swerving the three course option we choose the Prestige menu, a six course tasting option, with matched wines.

Every course is a delight, exquisite flavours, elegantly matched and beautifully presented.

Absolutely loved this, the food was delicious, and came out looking sensational. We went for the prestige meal, which is 7 courses. The staff were amazing couldn't do enough for you. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely great place, seasonal menu.

Don't expect to come here on a budget but do expect excellent service and a meal to remember.

Attended the wedding of my sister today ..what a beautiful venue idyllic scenery and amazing food. The service was second to none.

Fantastic restaurant for a special occasion! Had a 7 course taster menu with paired wines and everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. This is a bit on the expensive side but worth a visit for a special night. Service was excellent and the staff really know their wines! The place had a very homely feel yet still very posh!

This has to my favourite restaurant of all time, the food is always amazing and the Andrew's wine knowledge is breathtaking and he is so passionate. The food packs so much flavour and texture in every dish. This is a gem in not just Yorkshire but the UK

Been a couple of times in the last few months for special occasions. The food is high quality and very well presented. Wine matches perfectly. The service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Beautiful surroundings. Classy place. Love it.

We had the prestige menu and loved every single mouthful. Waiting staff were amazingly attentive and very nice. Explanations with every course were a really nice touch. We didn't choose the full wine flight as we don't drink a lot but had 2 glasses of wine from the flight which were beautiful, well chosen wines. If you want a real treat this is the place to go in Sheffield

What a gem! On Sheffield's doorstep too.

From the moment we approached the entrance to the moment we left, the whole experience was elevated. I sincerely felt special.

And the food was next level, we had reservations that perhaps it would not be quite so filling, but it was.

The wine selection and drinks are really well put together, some cracking recommendations. And the coffee digestif was great too.

The crown may have slipped ever so slightly in recent years since the Michelin star was lost, but this is still one of if not the best restaurant in the Sheffield area. The food is excellent, the location and grounds are beautiful especially in spring and summer (albeit kind of close to nowhere), and the service is very good.

As such any negatives are slight and need to be considered in the context of an exceptional restaurant aiming to be world-class. With this said the lounge and some of the waiting/relaxing areas would benefit from an update. The front of house manager was excellent but some of the service staff could perhaps do with a little more schooling in the art of silver service -- nothing major just not quite at the level you expect at an absolute top drawer restaurant.

We went on 2nd July to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. We had the prestige menu and it was excellent. Carole is front of house and just the right person. I said I didn't want my lamb too rare and when it arrived it was perfect. I don't understand why this place doesn't have a Michelin star because the food is of such a high standard.
