Beautiful place to visit. When we visited, the house was decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and decorations. We paid to look around the house, which was a magical experience, each room came under the theme of Beauty and the Beast (A Tale as old as Time). The staff were great - friendly and helpful and told us so much about the history of the house. We ventured into the grounds and this was decorated with Christmas lights. Beautiful grounds and we look forward to returning when the rain disappears. We ate in the cafe and the food is exceptional. Absolutely delicious and definitely recommend eating here.

Always love a historic house. Helpful volunteers and interesting architecture and paintings. Nice tea room. Gardens are not yet that great but it'll be interesting to see how they come out after the renovations

A fantastic afternoon/evening. It was a great story inside, and the rooms were amazing. Outside is fantastic with the lights everywhere. Great staff, especially Graham, for all the info. There was even an outdoor train to ride on. I'm going to take the whole family next year.

Wow! What a stunning house and location. Free to park and we visited the cafe in the house. Lovely setting and would definitely go back. Beautiful winters walk! A rare country house that remains since the 1760s. Incredible.l! 🙌 The longest country house in the UK and possibly Europe! 🌎

This was my first visit to this most interesting house. The staff were most welcoming and helpful.
The house has some very interesting rooms within it, some of which I recognised from various films and television series that used them for location shots . At the moment there is an exhibition of costumes from some of these programmes.
I also enjoyed walking around some of the grounds which still had some colour even in late Autumn.
The restaurant has a good selection of food and drinks too

Wentworth is a truly magnificent place. We visited the costume exhibition but stayed for the grounds and history. We will definitely be returning and look forward to seeing the restoration. The café is a lovely little place and of course, the staff are typical of Yorkshire; friendly with warm smiles.

So beautiful. Visited for the first time and loved looking at all the rooms. The tea room is much bigger than I thought and was so busy.

One of the finest and grandest Georgian houses in England, it is Britain's biggest private home. it has 365 rooms, 1,000 windows and two and a half acres of roof, and its 618ft East Front façade - sandy-coloured stone blackened by coal smoke - is twice the length of Buckingham Palace, and the longest in Europe.
You still can't see all the rooms at the moment, as there is still a lot of restoration going on, also the camelia house isn't open to the public yet, they were hoping to have it open for the summer of 2023, but still not opened on October 23, when we visited, also the stables aren't open to the public untill 2024, but don't let that put you off, you still get to see some rooms on the ground floor and 1st floor, and the gardens are worth a stroll, there have been many films and TV series filmed here including,
Oscar winning feature films such as Darkest Hour, worldwide hit TV series Downton abbey, including ITV’s Victoria and BBC’s Gentleman Jack, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Charles III, Billionaire Boy, music video and fashion photography shoots and a few more.
At the time of are visit there was a costume display from the films and TV series that were filmed here which made it more interesting.
National trust members only pay (50%) £6.25 for the house and gardens, (otherwise it's £12.50) or £8.75 for a guided tour of the house and then visit the gardens. (Otherwise £17.50) We took the guided tour and it was great, as you find out more about the house, if we weren't members of national trust we would not have gone at these prices, but would have returned if more rooms were accessible and when the stables are open. But we did enjoy it, and will return in the future.

Absolutely stunning building which is inspiring. The guides around the house are very helpful and informative. The work done to restore the house is incredible. The gardens are also stunning with lots of different areas to investigate the children will love it as there is a woodland area with them specifically in mind

What a fabulous stroll back in time... Wentworth Woodhouse is the Largest Grandest House in England with the widest frontage at over 600 feet... the state rooms are magnificent and you can only marvel at how it must have been when it was furnished and in its glory days... well worth a visit

I'll get straight to the point here - Don't underestimate how amazing Wentworth Woodhouse is. I shouldn't compare, but after visiting Chatsworth, last week and being impressed, I thought this might fall flat. I was so wrong-  it offered something totally different, with much more heart, story, creativity and far less crowds. It was an all together less commercial and much magical experience. And while I'm comparing these Christmas experiences- it's  also half the price, making it much more affordable.

🥀🏛🕯🎄Wentworth Woodhouse is a beautiful historic Statley home nestled amidst the rolling hills of South Yorkshire, with the longest facade of any stately home in the UK. For their festive experience, Many of their stunning rooms are dressed up to tell the story of restoration the house has experienced told through a christmassy theme featuring elements from Beauty and the beast. It's absolutely magical, and the creativity wowed me. The house tells you it's story as the beauty unfolds.

✨After a tour of the house, it's out into the frosty beautiful gardens for a twinkly and magical light trail walk which is just the right length to amaze but not exhaust.
🌭☕ There's huts to buy delicious food like nachos, hot dogs and pie and peas. There are also sweet treats, and hot drinks to keep you warm like mulled wine and the most amazing build your own hot chocolates.

🚂There is a miniature steam train that goes round a track and the 4 of us found it far too much fun and giggled like kids all the way round, in may case thanks to the mulled wine.

Wentworth Woodhouse has something to offer everyone, and isn't just for Chrismas! With its captivating blend of history, stunning grounds beauty, and right now- festive charm, this stately home is a must-visit destination. It's run through a lot of hard graft and dedication and is a registered charity. Volunteers are slowly restoring this beautiful piece of history back to its former glory alongside development of its uses and projects which promise very exciting things for the future. They are well worth supporting.

They have fantastic events all year round such as their afternoon tea experience, concerts, murder mystery nights , dinners and foodie events, a variety of tours, quiz nights and a cafe and gift shop, and you can even get married here. Check their website out for more information or to book the festive experience which is on until 7th Jan.

My friend makes period costumes as a hobby and wanted to see the exhibition in the house. It was brilliant as was the short film clip explaining how film makers choose settings was very interesting. Linda the volunteer, shared information about the window drapes ,ceiling and chandelier.

A nice house to visit but don't expect furniture! The building has some fantastic details. It is still being sorted after being in a state of disrepair. The gardens have lots of places to discover for all ages. The also host events here.

Had a really enjoyable trip to wentworth woodhouse. The house itself was really amazing to explore. We really enjoyed walking through each room and learning about the history of it. We had cream tea in the cafe which I thought was really reasonably priced. Next visit we will definalt book on for a guided tour and afternoon tea in the long gallery.

Took the family on the Christmas lights trail, we initially arrived at Wentworth Castle and found it was the wrong place, so arrived almost 45 mins late and they said it was fine. Lovely set up for Christmas, very magical for the kids, can tell its the first time as still has lots of potential to improve and grow year after year. We always look for Christmas trails each year for the kids and have attended many over the years including Temple Newsome, Roundhay and Hazelwood. The standard and class was very high and we will return next year and do the house tour too! We arrived to deer eating on the grass outside the house, which the kids loved, seeing the antlers against the moonlight was epic! Little mini railway on the grass for a quick train ride, mulled wine, hot chocolate on sale to add to the festive feel. I think with further investment and support from the trustees this has the potential to grow and match Castle Howards Christmas which is the best in the county IMO. Please do this again next year!

A beautiful addition to the National Trust's collection of stately homes. Although there is still work to do, and if you're coming to view paintings you'll be disappointed, this house still has an abundance of internal decoration and architecture as well as extensive gardens that make your visit worthwhile.
For those who need it, there is good disabled parking in front of the house and a little golf buggy to transport people to and from the other car park.

Huge magnificent edifice. Grand in scale and great views. The costume exhibition is fascinating. I liked the fact it is not overly restored.
