Great stay in this lovely pub. My room was very clean and comfortable. (Shower was great too). The staff and manager were excellent. My meal on Saturday night was great. I was pleased that when I checked in that they mentioned the bar was open till 2.30am, however it wasn’t too noisy at all. Highly recommend a visit & stay. Ulverston is a beautiful little town.

Absolutely wonderful food. Cannot not fault it. Staff are so warm and friendly and there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere at the Sun.

Honestly would highly recommend a visit you won't be disappointed.

We booked the basic double for 1 night. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was clean, warm and spacious. Mattress a bit soft for me but we slept really well anyway!

Great sports bar with seriously good food and fantastic service. We got loaded waffle fries & Mac n Cheese, both were great and 100% scratched our food itch & then some. Staff are super friendly too - we will definitely come back if we return to Ulverston!

Went for an evening meal. Nice pub, quieter eating area. Food good. Ale good. Staff helpful and friendly.

A must visit great food and drink service. Very helpful staff . Great big 👍up. Will be visiting again next time we are over in the lakes.

I must mention the room was massive also a massive shower room. All bedding towels etc spotlessly clean.
The food was delicious staff fabulous xxx

What a great service we had at this pub, Ryan greeted us with such kindness helping my elderly Father find a comfortable chair. The food was amazing and plenty of it. All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our evening here. Thank you.

The staff are Absolutely Lovely!!
I had to leave very early, and could not stay for a full breakfast, but the young woman at reception was delightful!!

She brought me the basics of a delicious breakfast in no time!!

And the room and washroom/shower, super clean.

Of course if you wish to open the windows one can hear somewhat street noise etc.

But i fell asleep quickly and had a wonderful rest !!

Room clean and spacious, friendly staff, nice food and good selection of beer. Oh and free car park. What's not to like!

We had a big gang of us 6 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs!
Was seated in the bear garden!

We ordered 3 platers of food!

Wasn't expecting alot, but my god! It was a buffet of food! All very well presented!
Food was hot and fresh!

Only problem was the 6tf seagul but we had 2 kids that made sure he was kept at a safe distance!

Beers was good!

Defiantly recommended this place!

Not the most attractive pub inside or out but the food and service were excellent.

Great value, great staff,. We stayed in room 9 very reasonably priced clean and well equipped room with a breakfast menu worthy of a large hotel chain. Parking was included in the cost Well done and thank you to the sun Inn Ulverston and its new staff. In particular Toby and Richard We'll be returning soon. Thanks

Good quick service from bar staff,despite it being a full pub

a nice 400 year old pub the staff was very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Will be back to stay for longer next time

Room a bit noisy, not really the hotels fault as it was deliveries in the street at 4.00am.

Five stars for a super meal of unexpectedly high quality. Perfectly cooked lamb rump beautifully complemented with interesting additions like feta, part roasted Cherry tomatoes, asparagus and baby fennel. My wife had a proper meat pie, chips, gravy and tenderstem broccoli. By proper pie, I mean full crust of shortcrust pastry packed with super slow cooked beef shin - none of the old stew with a puff pastry lid nonsense! Excellent food.

I've just read that a new team of chef's has been recruited - smart move as they clearly know their stuff!

Hotel room was nothing special and it was noisy till the small hours - which we were warned about many times during the booking process so can't complain.
