Friendly and helpful staff - paper delivery service excellent. Martins is a great shop to have in the town.

Good selection of items, friendly staff.

Downright rude.
Not just the once ( everyone has a bad day) but consistently aggressively rude.
Unfortunately there isn’t another newsagent on the town centre.

Really rude and unfriendly staff. Ignorant, aggressive and stuck in their ways.

They supposedly offer a parcel service but every time you turn up with a parcel they either refuse you or make rude and aggressive comments.

Horrendous staff. Needs an overhaul.

I would give one star if I could.
Visited today 28 November at approximately 1:30pm and the man who 'served' me couldn't have been more aggressively rude if he'd tried. I asked if he wanted me to pass my packages over the counter or put them together to the side of the counter to enable him to reach them easier? He huffed and glared at me. Was told in no uncertain terms that me using the parcel return service was contributing to polluting vans, that I was holding people up in his store - clearly untrue as although I had four small pre-paid packages, he simply turned his back on me mid-service to serve others, hence no one was kept waiting. I pointed out that he should raise his (clear) issues with his employer and not me, the service user, using a service that Martin's offers. He rattled on about how I should be shopping locally, contributing to townspeople (does he realise he works for a national chain?) and not buying 'more stuff' online. I was just dumbfounded - he was just so unbelievably unpleasant and rude that I left in tears.
I live in the town and I did use this store when in town, but I will never set foot in there again. He needs to try talking down at a 6' 6" young guy like that and he might get what he deserves.

What is wrong with the staff in here. They whinge constantly about having to take in or hand out parcels as a service they offer through yodel.

Walk out everytime feeling like I've come out of the headmasters office.

Unbelievably rude staff. Whether it’s him or her, neither are temperamentally suited to work in a customer service environment. Possibly one of these places where they are only civil to “locals”.

Have been in this shop twice and twice the people working there were unhelpful and unfriendly. I will not go back.
