We've only ever visited and had drinks so thought we'd give food a go when looking for somewhere to have a Sunday roast!
Definitely worth booking as a number of tables were reserved.
Great location on edge of town centre, with cosy courtyard area to the front and comfortable bar / restaurant inside.
Prices are really good with a decent portion served at great value. We had 2 roasts (1 large pork and 1 small lamb) and a ham, eggs and chips, with a side of cauliflower cheese.
Update (June '24) - Visited again today and again, visit was all good. This time I went for Roast Pork and once again was a lot of food but definitely worth it!
Food was out quite quickly and all really tasty and fresh.
This place is also dog friendly so that's an added bonus.

We absolutely love this place. We come every Friday to finish our working week. The staff are lovely. The beers are great. They are so sweet with our little blind dog and he feels safe there. They do loads of theme nights, quizzes and groups. We'd always recommend.

Wow, just wow. Wasn’t expecting such lovely food. Great place. Good price. The food was exceptional and the staff were superb. Have already recommended it to a couple of family members.

Excellent Sunday dinner, we had the normal size one and it was more than enough! Excellent food and an excellent service from the team. Thoroughly recommend this place. We shall definitely return when we are in the area again.

Just had our Easter Sunday roast with the family at Oaks Barn… looks like we won’t be having a roast anywhere else now! The whole meal was brilliant, served beautifully and tasted amazing. Puddings where great and prices very good for Bury! £10-13 for a roast depending on what meat you have. Beef was cooked perfectly.We had children with us and they all cleared the plates, can’t wait to go back.

Great value food and a good pint.

Cosy place with a nice setup and great use of the space to give an ample feeling. The waiter was nice and the food, both quantity and quality, was great. Do not forget to add the beef chilli extra to your nachos, you won't regret it!

Great selection of well kept cask ale many of which I hadn't seen before. Nice friendly atmosphere. Can't comment on food as we didn't dine there. First visit but it won't be the last!

We went on Monday for the Monday Madness sell on the roast dinner. We got the beef roast dinner for 7.50. It was amazing. The food was great even if I would have paid full price. They have local and craft beers as well. Very cozy, children and dog friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating. The food arrived promptly and was hot. Vegetables were not over cooked and mushy. There was nothing negative at all. We will definitely be returning.

Great pub with a good selection of real ales. Nice outdoor seating when the weather is good. Nice atmosphere.

Great venue, was there for small party, staff incredible, helpful fun and polite, food was great, great night.

On holiday in the area, just had a really fantastic Sunday lunch at Oakes Barn. Unpretentious, straightforward, very tasty food. Clearly home cooked, very generous portions with very reasonable prices. The service was great and friendly. Definitely recommend.

I had my birthday meal at oaks barn on new years eve upstairs in the Elizebeth lounge, and we have just spent another friends birthday there. Absolutely brilliant service from Alex who makes amazing cocktails and real friendly bloke! Lovely food, great service and great cocktails. Highly recomend the place
