The Bell

Had a stopover here for one night. Arrived and sat in the bar with a drink and light lunch. We had a room in the barn loft conversion. Beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. Just a shame there isn’t a window overlooking the views of the countryside! The shower was hot and powerful ( an important thing I need in a hotel room)! As we’d had a long drive we stayed at the pub for dinner. Good choice on the menu. Hubby had braised lamb and I had the steak pie- very nice. We had a nice comfortable sleep but it was a little bit noisy in the morning ( not sure if we were above a store room)! Breakfast was choice of continental and full English with other hot alternatives. Hubby had full English and I had eggs Benedict with a huge pot of tea. We wish we had booked for two nights so that we could have enjoyed the surrounding area a bit more.
Only tip I would say for this room is that the bathroom didn’t have any towel hooks for wet towels!

Had a meal in the restaurant part of the pub. Lovely food. I was on a budget holiday so had i the cheapest of meals.

Taste was fresh and the portions are reasonable, but nothing exceptional considering the 4 star rating, the place is a little grotty around the edges too.
Table carnations water cloudy and not cleaned for a while. Walls with noticable droplet stains could of been easily wiped. Minor overlooked discrepancies.

Lady staff very friendly and down to earth.
An uncomfortable demeanour from, I'm guessing, the manger (male, distinctive accent).

Otherwise it seems a much frequented pub. Good space. Plenty of seating in and out. I would recommend.

We've not been to The Bell for many years and after such a fabulous evening on Saturday I don't know why! The Bell was the perfect location to meet friends halfway and on arrival we were so impressed with the space and ambience. Katherine looked after us so well - almost second guessing everything we needed and pacing the evening to perfection with drinks and meals arriving at just the right time and water refills without even asking. The menu is changed daily and the choice was first class. For starters the chili beef was delicious with strips of sirloin in a light batter - a huge improvement on a Chinese takeaway when you can't see or taste the beef! There was also the choice of this as a main course with salad which a friend had and it was so plentiful. Sea bass was so well cooked - as was the burger and my fish and chips were just as I like it with a fabulous homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas. Pricewise, The Bell is very reasonable for the service and standard of cuisine. I can highly recommend and we will be back very soon and thank you Katherine for outstanding service.

We booked Sunday dinner on a recommendation from a friend.
We weren’t disappointed.
Food was amazing and the little touch of the extra pot of gravy (thumps up) without having to ask for it.
We will definitely return with family.

It really is a fabulous pub with rooms. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, very comfy bed & luxury bedding. L'occitane products in the bathroom. Big roll top bath as well as a large shower. Good hot water & pressure. One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. We ate dinner & breakfast in the pub. Excellent food & lovely staff and service. The full English is the best my husband has had! This really is a lovely place to stay, I would not hesitate in recommending it.

We had a stayover for a night and an Evening meal to celebrate a friends birthday. We had visited before and were treated to a repeat performance in terms of a lovely room , great service and great food.

We stayed at The Bell on Sunday Nov 12th for one night. We had room 2 on the ground floor. It was a lovely double room with a stand alone bath and shower facilities. It was very warm, clean and well furnished. We had our dog with us, and they even provided a large dog bed and a welcome pack for her! Tea and coffee facilities were very good. We enjoyed a tasty Sunday dinner in the pub itself, and breakfast the following morning. The food on offer was varied and the portions more than ample. We had the full English breakfast which was delicious. All in all our stay was very enjoyable and we highly recommend The Bell - especially if your dog is accompanying you.

Had a delicious lunch today (New Years Day 2024) it was delivered by very friendly and attentive staff! Considering they were busy last night (waitress told me so!) they were all so pleasant. Definitely deserve a 5* review!

i dint stay here but the pub itself is really lovely and run by staff who work very hard. the log fire was lovely the food was really very tasty indeed and the Guinness went down a treat. it is a lovely place to meet, plenty of space for some privacy should you want it and great parking. not sure there is anything more you could ask for.

Lovely restaurant very attentive staff. Food generally excellent (steak burger a bit on the dry side but the starters were amazing).

We loved our stay at the Bell... Friendly staff, good food (especially the breakfasts!) and warm, comfortable rooms. And a great location- so close to Stratford and all things Shakespeare- right in the beautiful Cotswolds. I have no hesitation in giving the Bell 5 stars. We will be back!

Went for a family lunch. We were incredibly well looked after. Lovely comfortable pub, great vibe. Food was excellent, we will return!

My favourite place to go when dining out.
Service is outstanding, I think our waiter said thank you more than we did
Price is considerate for the quality and size of the portions
Myself and partner struggled to hear each other at certain points but that was down to our neighbours rather than the establishment

Had a wonderful time here with my friend!! The beer garden is lovely and the pints are a competitive price. Star of the show was Sandy though, she was so polite and more then happy to go out of her way to ensure our evening was perfect :)

Best pub food we have had in a while! Welcoming and helpful! Will defiantly be back very soon to try more of the menu and the roast dinner!

The staff, food and overall experience are always fantastic! Even when it’s busy the very attentive staff are very friendly and efficient. We feel very fortunate that this is our local pub within walking distance!

Didn't stay but had a meal, great food and lovely atmosphere. Great waitress service from Nicky, would highly recommend and will be returning 👌
