Three night stay to explore King’s Lynn. Only in a budget room, hence 4 stars as felt it rather basic. Otherwise a comfortable stay. Conveniently positioned hotel giving easy walking access to the town centre and local attractions. Bed only so no experience of meals. Beautifully appointed lounges and bar facilities. Will definitely return, next time in a better room.

Great customer service Especially when I was fasting. Catered breakfast to my timings. We attended a wedding and they even accommodated the timings of the meal. Very good customer service
Would recommend to stay for everyone

If you do anything on your visit to Kings Lynn, please please please go to Turners at the dukes head. Mark, Lewis, and Ashley are 3 of the nicest people you could ever want to meet, and the food is Michelin Star level. Highly recommend the crab & scallop lasagne, and the Eton mess for dessert.

A last minute booking, then a four hour drive arriving quite late.
Receptionist was helpful and cheerful. Managed to park the car on the market square with a permit supplied free by the hotel.
Rooms were clean and comfortable with no complaints, just a niggle. There was no information pack regarding the hotel and WiFi and it took me time to discover how to log on, then though it connected it was no Internet.
I should have called down to reception to clarify, but I was too tired and went to bed.
Breakfast was excellent, though pricey.
All in all, a good stay in an excellent historic hotel with plenty of previous star visitor's and I do not include myself in that list.

Great little hotel in the town centre. Rooms were clean and well equipped, a little bit on the small side though. The breakfast was good. You can order your hot food fresh from the menu. Then you can help yourself to a selection of cereals, fruit, pastries, toast and hot drinks (tea or coffee). The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. There is a car park out the back but it gets pretty busy so be prepared to park in one of the town car parks instead if for hotel is busy. There are lots of carpark nearby so it's not too bad. You have to pay £10 a day to park in the hotel car park, which is a bit of a shame. I'd expect free parking as a hotel guest.

Went for Afternoon Tea, had to find staff to get sat down but it seemed like there was only one lady serving. Had to change the cups due to lipstick residue (the replacement also had it, awful stuff to remove! 🙄)
Standard selection available but the quiche was different and very tasty. Lovely decor and layout.

The Gin Tasting deal was amazing, such a brilliant night away, great food and brilliant package. Hotel Staff were so so lovely, all went out of their way to make you feel welcome - which in my opinion makes all the difference. The evening meal was really delicious. The room was very nice too, we had a standard room and was very comfortable. Cocktails in the bar were amazing. We look forward to coming back.

We didn't stay here but wanted to have a drink before dinner.... Popping our head around the door the bar looked really welcoming and open to non residents so we found a seat.
Lovely bright room with lots of historical pictures dotted around the walls
The bar was was nice too, amazing to think how many people have been served here along the years... The stories it could tell... The present bar man was really lovely even took time out to tell us about the market square and how it would've looked back in the day.
There are some booths, and stool seating along with normal tables and chairs... The view from the window looks out across the market onto some beautiful historic landmarks
Take a work through reception and enjoy this amazing place... Loved the old wooden bannister post... It's a really nice place to spend some time soaking up the history and appreciating King's Lynns maritime past

What a lovely hotel. Lovely room, clean and tidy and well maintained. Tea and coffee available in the room along with a decent sized telly. I had sirloin steak in the bar area which was out of this world. One of the best I've had. To top it it was definitely the best hotel breakfast I've had in a hotel in the last 30 years of work trips.. Really good quality sausages and decent sized back bacon perfectly cooked that hadn't shriveled up. They must have really good kitchen staff. I'll definitely be stopping there again.

We cannot fault anything about our recent one night stay at the Dukes Hotel Kings Lynn. It was my partner birthday so I wanted to make it a special surprise for her and make her day feel special for her birthday and boy did this hotel deliver this she felt like a princess.

We stayed in one of the feature room in the old part of the hotel, the room was so big and beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, warm, spacious and comfortable. The rain shower was a delight. The breakfast was delightful.

Outstanding customer service. Special mention should go to all of the staff from front of house to the bar tenders who I must say can make some lovely cocktails, everyone was so friendly and helpful it made my partner special day memorable.

We highly recommend others to this hotel which is so well located for the town and all it has to offer.

A beautiful and historic hotel conveniently located in the town centre, close to the main shopping street, with a large parking area at the front. Came here on a 5 day coach holiday. On arrival we were made very welcome and offered free tea/coffee in the restaurant. Prompt porter service. The hotel dates from 1683 and was a coaching inn. It has been modernised but still retains its character and charm. Some nice olde-worlde touches like the paintings in their elaborate frames and the ornate grandfather clock in the downstairs corridor. There's a lift up to the upstairs bedrooms. My room, on the third floor, was not over large but it had a comfortable double bed, modern furnishings, full-length mirror, TV with a good size screen, fan, iron, teamaking facilities and a handy box of tissues on the bedside table. The room was clean (though I did have to inform reception if I wanted it serviced during my stay), and bedding was spotless. Clean and modern bathroom. No bath, but the shower was easy to use and water just the right temperature. Had to be careful about not slipping though, as there was no mat. There's a beautiful and comfy lounge, and a big modern bar near the entrance with a good choice of ales. Wine was reasonably priced. Very friendly and chatty barman. Breakfast was buffet style, with a good choice of cereals plus berries, grapes, melon and yogurt, and an English cooked breakfast. We helped ourselves to the coffee. Could certainly not fault the evening meals either. Good traditional food, three or four choices for each course including a vegetarian option, well prepared and presented, and generous portions. Had chicken for one of the main courses, and it was really tender. Waiters were quick and attentive, and the staff as a whole were helpful and very friendly. Had an enjoyable stay at this hotel and would come again.

First time I have stayed here. Attended my cousins wedding and reception.
Stayed 2 nights.
Rooms very clean and warm. Bathroom very spacious and shower lovely and hot. The receptionist was very welcoming and polite.
I paid for the breakfast, great variety to choose from.
Next time I visit my family and need to stop over, I will certainly book this hotel again.
I have stopped in quite a few around King's Lynn over the years. I am surprised this was my first visit here. It won't be my last.

I’m sat here in the lounge just had my last breakfast of my visit. And I really don’t want to leave. I’m have a quick sit and read then will head off.
I’ve settled my bill, eaten my fill from the amazing buffet. Ordered poached eggs they were cooked to perfection then being shrove Tuesday I requested a pancake. Nothing has been to much trouble in the dining room Hayley who was on duty each morning was delightful and so helpful.
The staff in the bar were equally helpful and made the most amazing cocktails for me.
The menu from light brunch /lunch through to Dinner oh not forgetting morning cake and coffee was so tasty and presented yes beautifully.
Questions at the front desk were answered.
I can honestly say nothing was too much trouble.
Oh my aunt has to follow a gluten free diet and this was not a problem.
If you’re wanting breakfast make sure it’s included In Your room rate that was our only mistake and ours not hotels.

Now I requested a room with a bath and that was not a great choice. My room was perfectly clean but a bit dismal and dark as the window looked out on another window. Where as my aunt had a beautiful room on the 2nd floor overlooking roof tops it was light and bright.
If I had had the same style room as mg aunt if would have had a 5star rating

The afternoon teas need to be booked 72 hours in advance if you would like a GF one. Have to say they looked delicious.

When staying here you are experiencing a hotel that has been part of the Tuesday Market place for years.
Beautifully decorated as well.

Location was great easy to find. We had a problem with the plumbing in our room but the staff were lovely and moved us straight away. I might add from a room to a suite so we were very happy. Highly recommend

We stayed in the dukes head and we had a pleasant stay. I've not given the room 5 stars purely because the shower was a bit rubbish and the pillows a bit thin but other than that it was tidy and the mattress was really comfy. When we returned of the lash at about 11 (I know party animals) the corridor was eerily dark apart from one flickering light which was like something out of a horror movie. Then at breakfast in the restaurant the waitress said the hotel is haunted.. now I'm not saying I particularly believe in ghosts but they should certainly get a new bulb in the flickering horror light..
I would 100% recommend this hotel it's very comfortable the breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly.

We had a one night stay with afternoon tea. Although we had one of the "cosey" rooms, it had everything we needed. Unfortunately it was very hot ( not the hotel's fault) the staff gave us a fan which did help slightly.
We have had quite a few afternoon teas and have to say this was one of the best.!! Kyle served us with our tea and was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We met Theresa, the chef and had a lovely conversation with her. We are looking forward to being able to try her new menu.!!!
The hotel is very central with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. It is a short walk from the railway station. There is a Gin distillery very close by. You can have a tour or just have a tasting. Very nice.!!!
All in all a very happy stay.
