An excellent interior, cozy ambiance, friendly staffs, scrumptious food options.
At a stone-throwing distance from the Kings college and most importantly has been famous for centuries by the Cavendish lab guys and specially the pub for Watson and Crick’s DNA discovery announcement.
What ele do you need to stop by when in Cambridge?

Had lunch here with the family. The fish and chips was average. Great service, great atmosphere. The place is spacious and has lots of notable historical moments attached to it. Would recommend for the experience!

Today we have visited this bar and we do every single time we come to visit Cambridge. It is great place for the afternoon drink, especially in their garden. Food was 4/5 for quality and price. Beer great and cold. The waiter was amazing even it was so busy at the time we been. We spilled a coke onto our food while he was present because of silly accident and he kindly changed it for us regards it was our fault. Definately will come back again

Historic place of Cambridge. The atmosphere was great. Even on a Sunday afternoon we found a place to sit for two even when the website to book a table said it was full all day. Great selection of beer and cider, and the staff was friendly and helpful in choosing. Food was delivered quickly to your table and was very tasty.

Really nice place to eat, drink, relax, to breathe in some of the science, history, culture of Cambridge and be part of it. A special place where the two professors announced the discovery of the wonderful world 🌎🌍 of DNA 🧬. Dog 🐶🐕 friendly 😄 too.

We came on Friday evening to have some chilled beer and just to try a new place. Very friendly bar staff and very knowledgable about the history of this unique pub. The Eagle is one of Cambridge’s oldest inns, it was built around 14th century and has lots of cool stories. DNA discovery, ghost stories and many more. The pub had very good selection of drinks and food. And there is lot of space for sitting inside and there is also garden area with tables outside. Very nice beer, will come back to try some other draught beers and try some delicious food.

This place is so cool and filled with history. There's are blue plaque commemorating when Crick and Watson announced their discovery of the structure of DNA there, while another section has WWII graffiti of soldier's goodbyes. Drinks were delicious and there's room to sit inside and in a courtyard.

The RAF bar! Very historic. Nice outdoor seating. Really good food. Central location. Some good veggie options.
But I did not see any ventilation indoors and it smelled stuffy, so stay there at your own risk. But you can sit outside with parasols.

Very beautiful pub, lots of history and very well preserved, it’s rare to see old English pubs being kept alive!

I had the bacon cheese burger and chips, it was very good quality for the price and was cooked to my liking, will be coming again for sure!

Thanks 🙏

The Eagle is a far above-average Greene King establishment that's been around for a long time (not always as GK though). It offers a substantial selection of cask ales, especially at the separated beer bar area in the back. So if Abbot Ale (runner-up at the Championship Beer of Britain 2023, to the astonishment of everybody and the dismay of many) doesn't float your boat, there's plenty of stuff from other brewers (like Oakham Ales) to choose from. I wish other GK pubs followed this example.
Housed in a beautiful Grade II-listed 17th century building (once a post office), the pub is gorgeous and comfy - even when busy. And it gets very busy often, as it appeals to locals, students and tourists alike. The nice beer garden to the side of the building is particularly noteworthy, but it's not easy to get a table there during peak times.
Beer prices are all right for Cambridge, which is not exactly the cheapest area for drinkers, food prices seem sensible, too. Service was commendable, and ordering a drink at the bar didn't take too long.

Classic Pub, good mood, service and food. Their "Eagle" beer is OK, quite a regular red ale, good but nothing special apart from its history.

Just popped in for a drink with a mate. Excellent choice of wines, beers and spirits. A really interesting venue, absolutely packed 5pm on a Tuesday so must be a very popular spot. I didn't eat but there was a good menu and plenty of people were ordering.

It's an absolute corker.
Burgers were excellent. Non-brioche bun... Heaven.
Good range of beers and spirits.
Lively atmosphere on a Saturday evening.

Really cool and historic pub. The food was great (I had fish and chips) and there is great history. Watson and Crick table is marked with a plaque but the ceilings at the back bar have historic burns from American and British air force soldiers before they left for war.
