I was looking for a park to have a lovely scroll, the weather was not the best, but it was lovely anyway, nice views and plenty pathways to explore.

Astonishing place with punting through the river across the worlds famous colleges. It's ultimately an excellence of science considering those big names.

It rivals Venice, which I’ve visited twice. No punters fell in the water today, unlike my last visit.
Unlike Venice, I couldn’t get access to Bridge of Sighs, due to access closed off.

First time visit to the Backs. Amazing views across to the college's, particularly Kings College and the chapel. So much history right in front of you, and loads of photo opportunities! We were lucky enough to be invited to join some friends for a punt along the river, and what a great way to spend an evening! Well worth a visit to the area, and the parking on Queens Road is free after five, so you can catch the setting sun lighting up Kings College and the chapel.

I really enjoyed my morning in this area. What a beautiful scenery in Cambridge. We can relax from busy day by just seeing people do punting in the river.
It is one of my best experience enjoying a city in England.

Walk alongside the west side brook, not only a nice spot to watch the external curve of king’s chapel, but also a good place to encounter some waders, eg, lovely moorhen chicks.

Beautiful landscape view which you can enjoy while walking. The Backs is a picturesque area to the east of Queen's Road in the city of Cambridge, England, where several colleges of the University of Cambridge back on to the River Cam, their grounds covering both banks of the river. You can get lovely scenic view here

Visited today at dusk. No crowds, just some punting on the Cam. ♥

One of the more beautiful parts of Cambridge the backs and the river are even more stunning in the summer. There are regular guided boat trips but if this doesn't sound appealing you can hire a boat and go punting yourself. Be warned it is more difficult than it appears. If this sounds entirely like too much effort sprawling out on the riverbank is also an option. A visit to the wren library is a plesant diversion where you can see the original manuscript of Winnie the pooh or Isaac Newton's cane.

One of the must do things in Cambridge is to go Punting along The Backs in Cambridge! I recommend booking online with Scudamore’s for this.

This spot in the city is one of my absolute favorites! It’s the perfect place to unwind and soak up the city’s unique atmosphere. Whether I’m people-watching, or just taking a stroll, I always have a great time here. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

Views lovely... but the rapacious colleges either deny the public access to their outside walkways or charge extortionate fees, catching out unsuspecting American and Chinese tourists. Not a good advert for Britain!
