Cambridge City Council

Visited here when I was issued a handsome tax bill last month despite being eligible for exemption as a full-time student.

The place is usually empty and the staff are very friendly and understanding. Apparently, my apartment was recently occupied by a taxpaying occupant and my status was not updated. They guided me on how to get documentation proof of studentship. It was a long process but I ended up with a bill of approximately £10 which I could manage.

It was also refreshing to see the customer service centre was housed in a building called Mandela house.

Absolutely disgusting council. They put satanic housing references on people's home, then bully them for the next 5 years in housing when they refuse it. Simon hunt head of housing refuses contact and bars you from service when you request an in person meeting. Corrupt lot!!

Awful council don't waste you're time with them

Don't know where to begin with my concerns about what goes on here.
All I know is I'm just done with Cambridge authorities.
Mamy of you know my stories as Nd manynof you will get to hear them.
Id need to write a book of complaints but have many also in the queue first !

Got a PCN for a poorly signed area of city, appealed, no issue really at this point but response slow and generic and went in email junk, followed up, the next generic response went in junk again, lost the will at this point so paid, like the council near me face to face or over the phone resolution of issues is now virtually non existent and emails not much better, god knows what they spaff all our taxes on because it's not efficient, accountable or competent public services.

There is no accountability at this place. They have not collected my blue bins for over 1 week past due and very blasé about it. There's no skin off their back

Incompetency doesn't come close.

one answers the phone even if you dial the emergency service number!!!

A council came to my house to fix the boiler and the stair railing he went to the toilet and did his business without washing his hands 😭

Mandela House always closed. No customer service. Unacceptable.

joke of a place will not help you with housing keep on asking for more and more information and sometime the same information. spent 3 months waiting for them to say the last person did not even put the information on the system. wish I could give no stars

Completely corrupt!!! Closing roads with fake votes! Causing fake congestion to bring in an awful scam of a congestion charge!!! These people should be sentenced to prison time! Awful people!!!

Website states graffiti in the city will be removed "within five days. Our team works between 6am and 5pm every day." Have lived in Cambridge for a year and the graffiti I saw on day one is still visible today. If you want a job where you are held to no standard whatsoever then become a member of the graffiti removal team. That is if it's an actual team as calls and emails to their office never get answered.

Regarding commercial services at the council: treating customers unfair, on a morally questionable way. Very disappointed. Looking for other places in the shire.
