We love byrons pool especially on hot sunny days. Great place to get canopy cover and shade from the sun, so you can still go out without being concerned about the heat.
It's child and dog friendly.
It's fantastic that there's not the stress of having parking restrictions or having to pay to park to go for a walk and enjoy some nature. I hope this stays this way as it doesn't need car park charges etc as it would seriously detract from the pleasant feel of the place.
We often take the dog for a walk and stop for a couple of hours, have a picnic.
Always meet nice and interesting people.

Great place for a walk and enjoy nature! I've also seen some people fishing. Bikes are not allowed within the area since the walk path is relatively narrow

Amazing place for relax and energy recharge...
Space for cars to be parked near, entrance just off road.
Old trees wrapped in ivy immerse you in the atmosphere of a fairy tale.
Cam river with water dam on it helping to control lavel of the water, bunch of ducks (get some bird food along).
Few points with benches to rest.
Place is tiny but so cozy.

A most relaxing spot, sadly these days the M11 seems louder than ever. Find you spot on the banks and just enjoy the coming and going of birdlife and insects.

Unless you know to look for it, this little gem is so easy to miss!

Right next to the open parkland of Trumpington Meadows nature reserve but hidden behind the treeline is Byron's Pool, which is a lovely little stretch of river and pools.

A small trail through the woods, along the bank of the river, with little fishing pontoons dotted along the way.

Great place for the dog to go in and out of the river, so he loves it! 🐕‍🦺

Next time you take a walk on Trumpington Meadows nature reserve, make sure you go look for Byron's Pool.

Lovely atmosphere with scenary typical of Cambridge. There are great walks through the woods or by the river. You also see some birds and they are cute. I think it is so peaceful and pleasant here. Easy access to and from Trumpington Meadows or other nice areas in Grantchester. Parking for cars and bikes available.

Beautiful nature walk including meadow, woodland, duckpond, rope swing, stream, fishing spots and even some wooden creature sculptures to add to the fun.

I really enjoy this place, having a nice walk by the river, taking with the Swans and ducks, and the magnificent little forest, right there, a little oasis of green paradise 😀 😊

A beautiful getaway just beyond the meadows at Trumpington village. Walking past the mossy birch and elms, beside clear trickling streams was a mystical experience. The nymphs and faeries must hide somewhere just beyond sight. We just had to sing the old hymn, "How great thou art" (and it's no wonder that Lord Byron became a poet! More details can be found at the City council page.)

One of my favourite spots in Cambridge, part of the national trust, so the entire location is protected and well cared for. I've been coming here since I was a child and I'm so glad it has been maintained and is so accessible.
A beautiful place that I highly recommend for those trying to get out of the house, find a place to go for a walk.
On the side, adjacent to the car park, is a barbeque/picnic area which can be used by the public.
If you're interested, fishing spots are available around here.
This area also has some engrained history; a bomb shelter from WW1 used to sit down the end but has since been moved. You can still view a Saxon era mosaic to mark a burial site there.
Nearby to a growing community of Trumpington, so local shops are easily accessed if needed.

It's a very short loop walk, but ideal for a sunny afternoon stroll. The carpark is small but we found a space. There are lots of little areas you can sit, and it's nice to walk next to the river
