What an amazing place! Tucked away in beautiful countryside with red squirrels, views and amazing owners!
The house itself is gorgeous with comfortable beds, lovely rooms with stunning views of the hills.
The owner and her daughter are both wonderful, kind and helpful at all times. The breakfast served is superb, healthy and very high quality - they even do a packed lunch if you need it!
I couldn't recommend Forest How highly enough as a place for a break, relax, hike, watch red squirrels or whatever you love doing!
Thank you for having us, for the welcome and the kindness 😊🤗🙏

Up a narrow bumpy track but we'll worth the journey, what a delight! You have breakfast watching an array of wild birds and red squirrel scampering past the window. Amazing breakfast, good choice on the menu and all freshly cooked. Lovely comfortable room. Highly recommend..

What a gem of a find this place is! Superb views, superb wildlife, amazing walks right from the front door. A very special place indeed. The staff are great and the breakfasts are the best you'll ever have. They can cater to any allergies or requests without fuss and the breakfast menu is extensive.

Kate was an Amazing host, very informative and helpful. Looked after us during the stay. Breakfast that was provided was absolutely delicious and gave us enough energy to climb Scafell pike and the other activities we completed during our stay. The view from our room (6) was absolutely stunning. Also you can spot red squirrels which I haven’t seen anywhere else in the country.

We stayed four nights at the end of April 2022. Kate was a fantastic host. She always had time to chat and impart her knowledge of the area, while rushing around sorting everyone's breakfast. Always making sure our dog Cookie had a sausage for her breakfast too! Those breakfasts really set you up for the days walk ahead.

The house has a beautiful terrace outside the conservatory where we sat each morning to watch the myriad of birds - I have never seen so much variety in a garden! Red squirrels come down for their hazelnuts too. We were fortunate to be staying the same week as Peter Trimming the author of "Belinda: The Forest How Red Squirrel". A very knowledgeable man indeed...

A terrific place to stay in the wonderful Lake District...if you have an interest in British wildlife and love red squirrels, this is definitely the place to stay...

First time visiting the lakes and what a great place to stay. Ourselves and another group had the lucky experience of being the first guests of new owners Kate and Corinne. They made us feel completely welcome and helped us plan our route up Sca Fell Pike. Suggesting a trail which offered everything we wanted. Breakfast was lovely and filled us all up ready for a long day, not to mention the beautiful birds and Red squirrels happily eating their breakfast right outside the window. I will definitely be back again. Thank you both again, and I look forward to seeing how you are both doing next time we visit.

Beautiful guest house with wonderful views. Debs, the hostess, was very friendly and helpful. The food was great and the birds and red squirrels were a special treat. Ignore comments about strict check in times - not our experience at all.

Me and my wife have stayed here twice, it is a lovely guesthouse surrounded by woodland and long winding walks from the door step. There are several pub restaurants within driving distance and a few you can walk to. Breakfast was excellent and set you up for the day hiking up ska fell pike or a 12+ mile hike to Ravenglass on the coast followed by a steam train ride back.

We will continue to visit this place as it is very close to nature with the deer, wild birds and red squirrels that can be seen from the gardens, I personally found that on a clear night it is a perfect dark sky location for astrophotography.

Absolutely love this place.
