Basic rooms reflected in great prices.
Spotlessly clean.
Great overhead shower and comfy bed.

Owner Ed is very friendly and welcoming.
Offered his number in case we needed anything.

Had dinner in the attached pub.
Excellent steak and burgers perfectly cooked and reasonably priced.

Elle, our server was wonderful, really friendly service with a smile.

All round very enjoyable overnight stay and in the morning lovely "home cooked" fry up and crossaints.

Already planning another visit.

Thank you to everyone at the Great Escape Chalets Rye Foreign.
Aidan 👍

Our first stay but definitely not our last. The location was perfect for us visiting friends and family in the area, something we do a couple of times a year since moving away. Originally booked as we were attending a family big birthday meal in The Oak and this meant we could enjoy an alcoholic beverage or two! Rooms are spotless and well equipped for a short stay. Bonus is you can book for just one night and that some rooms are dog friendly which was perfect for our needs. Communication was excellent. Looking forward to our next stay!

I really loved this place, reminded me of being in a motel but so much better. The bed was very comfortable, clean all around and quiet. You'll find a little fridge, kettle, tea and coffee etc.

The host Ed was very accomodating and friendly. You can tell he put so much effort and time into the place.
Would definitely recommend. We stayed for a night but we will come back to stay again.

It is handy to have a car as the place is a little bit outside of Rye. By car it is like 5 minutes and by walk I'd say about an hour.

The Oak pub was also great, they have delicious food in the evening. We also had lovely breakfast there.

We've just got back from a weekend break away with 3 toddlers and 2 other couples. The rooms were lovely and big enough to fit a travel cot. The fridge was handy for the children's milk! Carmen was friendly and very accommodating!! We ate at the pub on both nights, the food was amazing! On the second night, the babies fell asleep early so the pub kindly served our dinner to us outside our rooms which was so kind of them! Breakfast on both mornings was delicious - the warm crossiants were a nice treat before the full English! Would highly recommend and we will certainly be back again!!

So pleased to have found The Great Escape - perfect location, great facilities in the rooms, very clean and Ed could not have been more helpful. The staff in the pub next door were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us and served the most delicious breakfast! Would thoroughly recommend The Great Escape and would definitely stay again! Thank you 😊

We just stayed here and had a great time! So relaxed, really lovely people, rooms were clean, well presented and had everything we needed, comfy beds, warm, quiet, nice shower, a little fridge. The location is amazing for exploring this part of the country, five minutes drive from rye. Breakfasts were amazing, served at the Oak pub next door which had great food for the evening also, good beer and wine, beautiful interior, just great! A really nice place to stay or visit.

The great escape was the perfect location for my family and myself. Carmen was most helpful and saw to our every need. The rooms were lovely and clean and the beds very comfortable. The shower was lovely and hot and spacious.
Also a added bonus was beautiful weather.
The grounds were Huge and my young family had a wonderful time playing on the grass can't wait to return.
The breakfast was fantastic and had a lot of choice.

Just back from a 2 night stay. Warm welcome on arrival, owner checked that we had everything we needed. Yes, the accomodation is a little basic, but at a fraction of the price compared to Rye we were very happy. Room very clean with fluffy towels, toiletries and tea/coffee/kettle.
Breakfast was amazing!! Good quality ingredients nicely prepared and fab coffee. Carmen and her lovely assistant were helpful and caring. Such a shame that the kitchen wasn't open on the evenings we stayed but highly recommend the pub a short walk away in the village

Really lovely little B&B. We stayed in the family room which was great for us with a 6 and 3 year old. Breakfast was great- local produce and delicious. We ate at the Oak for supper one evening which was great. Enjoyed Winchelsea beach and the steam train to Dungeness. We would definitely return.

nice place if you are passing through. we were able to enter without a reservation as it is never so full. Moderate costs with less than £50 me and my girlfriend took 2 starter and 2 second courses with 2 Moretti beers.
